Sloane's POV
Looking at Hester's concerned face, I struggled to find the right words.
So much had happened in these few days that I felt I'd lived an entire lifetime. But for Hester, tucked away in Hillcrest Manor, it was just another ordinary couple of weeks.
I couldn't bring myself to lie to her, so I managed to say, "Let's... let's go inside first."
Hester's expression froze for a moment, then worry crept across her face. She grabbed my hand and sighed, "I understand, Sloane.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure that i***t faces consequences for this. What was he thinking, letting Evelynn stay at the Alpha House? He crossed a line.
"And I heard you had to seek treatment for Donovan elsewhere? Did he listen to Evelynn's lies and do something to hurt Donovan?"
