First, I was hit with warmth from the fire nearby and then, I blinked. My vision, previously clouded, cleared up as I took in what was before me.
Jet black hair similar to the ones of last night. My head couldn't really put the pieces together but the smirk plastered on his face was too fresh in my memory.
I snapped out of my thoughts, when I really took in what was before me. A gun on the table and four other men who were presently stationed at a distance around me.
It registered now, I had been taken captive.
"Welcome back," the man seated across me said. He unfolded his legs from the table and brought it to the floor.
The cloth buried in my mouth didn't allow me speak but my actions told him that I was terrified. I shook against my chain aggressively.
He threw a signal to one of the men besides me and the man came and took the cloth out of my mouth.
"I haven't offended anyone at all. What do you want from me?" I cried out.
"A shame." He said. "Out of the many things running through my head, I'm only interested in one thing." He stood and came to lean on the table directly in front of me.
"How do you know Marcelo Morelli?"
The name did sound familiar. Where had I heard that name before?
I frowned visibly. "I don't know any Marcelo. I'm telling you, I came just for a trip, I don't know anybody." I said in a rush.
He kissed his teeth in irritation. "So you f**k people without knowing their names? Interesting." He said to me.
So that's where I knew that name from. The guy from last night who gave her the best night of her life.
"Marcelo," I called softly.
"Yes, that Marcelo." He said.
"I don't know him, Marcelo and I met last night, it was just a one time thing." I retorted.
"Even if it was a one night stand, Marcelo hardly makes move on girls like that. They offer him and not the other way around." He leaned further into my face making me backwards instantly. "That means there is something about you that Marcelo finds irresistible and I'm going to take advantage of that fact."
I scoffed. "You've got to be kidding with me."
"No, cariño, we can play games another time," he turned my face to him by holding the tip of my jaw. "I know how he couldn't resist you, Aunque no me sorprende, porque eres preciosa," his fingers grazed my bottom lip but I turned my face away from him again.
When he saw what I did, he smirked. Walking around the table he sat down again and tapped his index against the document before him, before sliding it over to me.
"What is this?"
He simply said, "A contract. All it requires of you is to seduce him again. How ever you did it, Hermosa, do it again, this time you tell him you want to go home and when you get home, I need something from you, a file."
"I'm not going to steal from him or anybody. Find someone else to do your dirty job, I just want to go home." Tears pooled in my eyes as I spoke.
I just wanted to go home...
"The contract says if you get it right, I pay you 10 million dollars and get you off our neck. You land safety back in New York and we never have to see each other again." He said. One of the men came to us, placing a suitcase filled with money.
Money wasn't my issue now, I had a very ugly feeling about this. I don't even want to think about it.
"Why can't you do it yourself? You have guns and yet you get a girl do the job. I won't do it. I don't f*****g need your money, just let me go home." He waved his hands and the man locked the suitcase and stood back.
"I don't think you want to know what happens if you don't comply, Miss Evans." He pulled out another envelope from his pocket and threw it on the table, allowing me to look at it's content.
Stephanie was in those photos, how the hell did they know my best friend?
"Heard she loves a good f**k, I was hoping to be her next client."
"f**k you!" I screamed at him. "Don't you go near my best friend. She is not a p********e!"
"Watch your tone with me!" He sneered at me and for the first time, I saw his other side behind the fine face and good body.
He stood up, throwing the chair behind him and walked around the table. He gripped my jaw tightly. "My brother may be head over heels attracted to you but I know a b***h when I see one. Don't ever curse at me again!" he released my jaw harshly.
"The choice is yours and you better think fast or I might change my mind on some things." He said to me.

When they dropped me off at my hotel, they reminded me that I don't have a full year to do the job. The concurrent event was still lingering in my head like a nightmare.
What had I gotten myself into?
When I got back to my room, the scent i was almost getting addicted to, still lingered in the air.
Matteo,
I checked around, noticing that all his things were gone and the only thing he left behind was a note.
Sitting on the bed now, I opened the note with shaking hands. The way my heart felt was like, it was being squeezed tightly as I read through.
I miss you, badly.
I waited for you to come back all night but it seems I got you too upset to even look at me. I know how angry I've made you feel but I wanted to make you the happiest woman in the world by this trip. I want to see you smile each and every time and heck, my conscience be damned if I lied to you about how I really feel.
I love you, Vanessa and I wish I never should have put you in this kind of situation. I have no excuse for what I have done to you, I only hope you forgive me for my foolishness. I extended the trip like I said I would so you can enjoy the city of your dreams. Stephanie will join you soon.
With love,
Matteo.
"Bastard!" I said, tears already dripping down my cheeks, unto the paper. "I hate you,"
But how could I hate him.
---
When I opened my eyes again, i realized that i had fell asleep few hours ago, crying about Matteo again. I woke up to the sound of telephone ringing.
When I picked it up, i was told that i had a package that came in just now and it would be in my room shortly. I sighed and put the phone down.
Waiting for the package literally, I don't know why it came to my mind. Maybe it was Matteo, sending me something. I don't know, I think I should get him out of my system for real.
I don't know what to do, anything I do something, or think about something he's always there, in my head. He just seem to pop up in my head. I have to accept it now, Matteo was getting married. God! The thought of it sickens me the more.
When the door sounded, I went to open it. There it was, my package. I signed on the paper presented to me and took the package inside my room, shutting the door behind me.
Without wasting time, I opened it. Staring back at me was a note of which I opened to read.
