Bent over, gripped tightly to the floor, Isadore closed her eyes trying to ignore the nausea and dizziness. With the ceiling swirling around her and the smell of blood clinging to her dress it was hard to focus on her breathing trying to break out of the spiral of weakness that held her captive. But somewhere near she heard the harassing sound of hasty footsteps approaching. Crying silent tears Isadore ignored the intense pangs that were tearing apart her heart and crawled as best she could into an alcove behind the bed partially hiding in the shadows of the room.
