Weeks Leading Up

(Adonis) Standing at the mouth of the cave, I watch as the evening sky swallows the sun. It’s beautiful and brings me the peace I want in a mate. A person to care for, and one that warms my heart with just one look. I haven’t found that yet. None of the girls have made me feel that way, yet. I’m hoping for the best, but lately I’m becoming less optimistic. I pick up a rustle behind me, and I can just tell who it is by the sweet amora wafting towards me. “Son...” I turn to find my mom behind me, she looks as gorgeous as ever, her golden fur blending effortlessly with the sunset. “Hey mom.” I smile, and she returns it. “Why are you out here? The pack is bringing in the catch that you led. Don’t you want to eat with them?” she asks. I look off to the side, logistically, I want to, they are my pack, my people, but mentally I want to remain confined here. A few hours ago, I was ravishing some girl, the image of her fresh on my mind highlighting my biggest problem. Representing another failed opportunity to connect with someone. She was a beautiful girl, it’s just that she didn’t give me that feeling that I long for, and because of that, I just need a moment to recuperate. “Are you thinking about it again?” she touches my arm. She knows, knows of my longing for a mate, and knows of my failed attempts, and has caught onto this one once again. “I’m sorry baby, I know it’s hard and I get it. It took me a long time to find your father. Remember the story? I also had a hard time finding someone that truly loved me, especially who I am as a person, and after a while, I felt like trying was just a waste of my time, so I stopped. It only took a short while after I did for your father to find me, so maybe that’s what you need to do, hmm?” I know she’s right; she always is, but I can’t help it. My wolf is constantly pestering me to find her. He is lonely and has been waiting forever. For the first eighteen years of my life, he had been resting, only waking in my times of need, whether it be to ignite my first shift or to fight a battle. Now twenty-four, the past five years have grown on him, he’s eager to find his other half. I’ve searched far and wide, but I just can’t seem to find that connection, not even an inkling of that sweet scent of whatever that wafts from her skin, to just have her here. Searching has become so tiring. Damn it, now I’m getting irritated. “Honey…” I look up at my mother’s concerned face, “Come inside and eat something, we can talk about this later.” I turn to look at her, and again, she’s right, I should go and eat. I really don’t need to give my wolf another reason to get mad at me. My stomach grumbles, and she looks at me once again and smiles. “Come on Ad, let’s feed that wolf of yours before he gives you another thing to worry about.” I nod at her, is this lady ever wrong? “Oh, and this is a good opportunity to talk to your father,” she says, as she begins to lead the way, “he seems to also be worrying about you becoming Alpha, but first, you must eat.” I groan, because I know for a fact that usually means that some bullshit is about to happen and I’m going to be too full and drained to even prepare for it. (Avery) The guy was surprisingly gentle that time. I believe that something good probably happened before he came here. His touches were soft, kind, and dare I say delicate, he even held and showed me some inkling of affection. He managed to shower me with more love than my mother ever did, and it's all in a day's work. From me successfully completing the online college coursework for some other rich kid to my lewd service provided afterwards, my mother seemed to be very pleased, and the wide and sloppy smile that rested on her face proved it. That night she had actually made me dinner, skipping the usual pre-made salad packages that she fed me nightly and swapping it for actual cook food. She had made something delicious, but still stuck to maintaining the amount of 'just enough to keep you skinny' or 'neat and petite' as she called it. But that kindness only lasted one night, as the next morning she awoke me from bed by beating me with one of the many whips she had ready for those men. Something made her so mad that she completely lost the calm, unnerving composure that she had and pushed her to the decision of beating me until I was sore and bruised for days. It also didn't allow her to stop and think about how that would mess with her business, and once she saw the effects in the abundance of clients, she lost her temper again and decided on presenting me with another extended whipping section. Later the next week, without remorse, she beat me again. She was upset that her lover, that I'd never knew existed, had been lying about what his life was really like. He gave her the impression that he was a bachelor, lonely and in need of a partner to fill that void, all while having a wife, two kids ― a boy and a girl ― along with a house within one of the many rich suburbs of the Mount West surrounded by a two-feet tall, white picket fence, completing the picture, and by the manic episode that she had, I can tell it broke her. Just like everything in her childhood did. She had begun passing it onto me, that hatred, that humiliation, that sad, sick feeling of helplessness that she felt in her junior days. Trampling in the footsteps of her unforgivable father, she had begun to use me like he did her, locking me up within the grounds of the second floor of our troubled, less-expensive-than-the-others suburban home. First it was the hitting, the constant battering my mental and physical, one of the rawest combinations of abuse. While she screamed at me, shouting venom-laced words, she began creating a map displayed by the bruises and welts that she branded my skin with. Though foreign at the time, I somehow came to terms with it and then had started to believe that I deserved the abuse, that I was rightfully being punished for my sins, sins which I couldn't label when they were committed, but pointed to them as the cause. I really and truly believe that the punishments were valid. That was until she introduced to a whole other level of repenting for my sins. Date Posted: 5/29/22 ~~~ This interaction was the cutest. We love a mother whose all about their child. On Avery's part it was a bit hard to write, but what do you guys think? Please leave any comments and concerns that you all have, and a recommendation of my story will always be appreciated, please spread the word so that more people can fill me with validation and boost my confidence :)
