Chapter 4

Rolling over from my nap or so i thought was a nap. My phone read 9.30pm, looks like i missed dinner. I must have needed the sleep though. I decided to open some of the notifications and it seems i had some more than i did before.

'Where the f**k are you b***h'

'YOU BETTER GET BACK HERE NOW!'

'I swear to god when i find you...Fuck sake Paige. answer your goddamn phone'  And so on. Yeah he was pissed of but it's about time he knew how it felt. I decided i'd be a cunt back and reply to rub it in a bit more.

'Look I appreciate it If you'd back the f**k off. I'm not coming back. I don't see why i should. Infact i've done you a favour. So be a good wee sport and go back to doing what you normally would ne doing. FYI After tonight i won't have this number no more' I knew this would most properly wind him up more but ack well what do i care right now.

Ok i was rubbish at revenge messages. But surely he'd get the adjust of it, right?. I probably shouldn't tell him i'd no longer have this number. When i get a new one I'd only give it to my brother and Lucy but make sure to store it under another name. I gave Lucy a quick ring back and prayed she was alone.

'Ring ring'

'ring ring'

'Rin...'

On the fifth ring she answered the phone.

"Hello" She whispered through the phone.

'Lucy, it's me can you excuse yourself?" Knowing she's probably still at the pack house.

"Yeah sure' she said. then i could hear hear moving around.

"Hey sorry, Few of us were still trying to fix the living room after you know who tore it up."

"Sorry Lucy, did you see Antony yet?"

"Yeah i did, had to sneak off to read it though. Josh was kicking around i could hear him leaving you voicemails. Paige i've never seen him this bad before. He's took off into the woods with a few guys. Antony stayed back to help tidy and obviously hunted me out to give me the letter"

"Well he won't get far. I left my car at the blue moon pack over night. My scent dies there. Did you read over my letter?"

"Yer.. I did and can't stay i'm happy. You could have taken me with you. I mean how could you leave me here?"

"Well your family is there and i need someone keeping a eye on my brother and out of trouble. If you must you can always sneak away from a bit and come up. Just make sure you have a good cover up story" I laughed.

"Oh don't you worry i'll be coming to visit you and your brother will be fine. Lonely but ok, you know what he is like"

"Yeah true, Keep me posted Lucy. I'm gonna go just now i'm starving" right on que my belly rumbled.

"I will do Paige. s**t i gotta go too" as the line went dead.

Was nice to hear her voice. Knowing she had my back on this meant a lot even if she wasn't in on it to start with. I got out of bed and made my way down stairs. I really needed something to eat. Not eaten since breakfast this morning. As i reached the bottom of the stairs i could see the kitchen light on.

"Hey" I say giving James a heart attack.

"Oh hey, I thought you'd be out for the night?" He turned to me with a spoon in his mouth and a tub of nutella.

"I see you have a sweet tooth?" Nodding my head towards the jar.

"Yeah sorry, I could just eat the whole jar. Would you like some?" Shoving the jar in my direction and passing me a spoon.

"Sure, Although i probably should eat something more filling" After all i kept getting called chubby back home. I smiled passing the jar back towards him. I went onto look for bread and something to put on it for a sandwich.

"Your not on one of the fad diets are you?" Raising a eyebrow at me.

"Well If you must know i've been trying to lose weight for a while with no luck. I'll keep trying and training though as i wanna getting fitter. Plus if i cave now i'll eat that whole jar aswell" We both laughed together.

James helped me find all the ingredients for a sandwich. Got myself a glass of water and took a seat at the dining table.

"So where's the rest of the pack?" I say taking a bite of the delicious sandwich

"We build more houses to give families their own privacy. Can't have everyone living under one roof. I only stay here as i've taking over as beta from my dad" He says taking up a seat next to me.

"Of course not" Shaking my head and laughed "makes sense i guess" A take a sip of water to wash the sandwich down "Hey James do you know if there is any places looking for staff, I'd like to find a job"

"I can take you around town tomorrow if you like, although you really don't need to work there is plenty to do around here if you wanna keep busy"

"No i'd like to work and pay my way thanks. If it's not too much trouble?"

"Of course i don't mind. We can go after breakfast?" I get the impression he like his food.

"Deal" I placed my dishes into the sink before heading back up stairs.

"Hey Paige" James follows after me "It's good to have you back again. Sorry to hear your mate is a douchebag" He shyly smiled at me like he probably shouldn't have said anything.

"Thanks, who told you?" I felt embarrassed. I wonder how many of them know.

"Your aunt told me earlier to keep a eye on you. She let slip by accident. Don't worry it's only me who knows"

"Thanks but i don't need you to keep a eye on me. I'll manage" I turned around and went back up to my room. As i reached to top of the stairs i heard James say 'Goodnight' it wasn't loud but with my wolf ears i heard it.

I appreciate them looking out for me but i don't want them fighting my battles for me. I wanna try and forget the ass. Wish my brain would let me too.
