"Sirus call Daniel."
"Calling Daniel."
Ring... Ring...
Ugh! I hate it when people do this. He's the one that called and asked me to come here in the first place, and now he's late. Though, to be honest I was fully expecting this.
"Hey. I know I'm late. I'm sorry."
"You do know that I have to be at a trial later today right?"
"Yes?"
"And you do know that I have to be there on time right?
"Yeah?"
"Just making sure you know."
"I still don't get why Helia can't take you to the trial herself."
"She can't because I'm meeting with you and she has somewhere to be right now."
"She has somewhere to be right now? Somewhere that's more important than you making it to your trial on time? Okay, sure. Do you even know where she is?"
"....."
"Exactly that's what I thou-"
"Where she is is none of my business! Just hurry up and get here already."
"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll be right there."
He was right though. I didn't know where she was, and that bothered me more than anything. On one hand she was her own person and she didn't have to tell me everything about where she was and who she was with, but on the other hand she was best friend and we told each other everything. We didn't keep secrets. Who am I kidding? She doesn't have to tell me everything. She doesn't need to tell me and I don't need to know. But still...
"Ashe, earth to Ashelyn."
"Huh? What?"
"You're back."
"How long have you been sitting there."
"Long enough to tell that somethings on your mind."
"Yeah, something is."
"What is it?"
"How on earth do you manage to be late to literally everything."
"I'm not late to everything."
"Yes, you are."
"No i'm not!"
"What about that time at orientation? Or the job interview? You were even late to your own birthday celebration!"
"In my defense, I didn't know that you guys were throwing me a birthday party."
"And what about all the other times?"
"Yeah, no. I don't have any excuses for those."
"Ha. gotcha!"
"Heh, whatever."
"....."
"That's not what's bothering you, is it?"
"No, it's not."
"Well go on. Tell me."
"It's about what you said."
"The Helia thing?"
"Yeah. It's just, your right. I don't know where she is, or who she's with, or what she does. It bothers me."
"Then why don't you ask?"
"What?! No! I can't do that."
"Why not? It doesn't hurt to try. Call her."
"Fine. Sirus, call Helia."
"Calling Helia."
Ring... Ring... Ring... Ring... Ring...
"Please leave a message for (XXX)-XXX-XXXX."
What do you know...
"No answer."
"See. I told you."
"She didn't answer that's weird."
Helia didn't answer. So what? That didn't mean anythings wrong. She's probably just busy or something. But even so she hasn't texted me since we left the dorms. Normally I get a text asking if everything's okay but there isn't a single one.Weird
"Okay enough distractions. What did you what to talk about?
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"What did you ask me to come her for?"
"You asked me to come here though?"
"What? No I didn't"
"Yeah, you did. Helia texted me saying you wanted the meet up here to talk about something."
"Helia told me you called her saying you wanted to talk."
"Here, look. These are the texts."
As he showed me the texts I found my self with more questions than answers. What was she hiding, and why was she hiding it?
