Chapter 7:

1073 Words
A portal opened suddenly and Alistar stepped back into his own room, shaking his head as the residual magic danced across his skin. It made him feel itchy and his nose twitched before he sneezed quietly. As the magic dissipated, he returned to his normal form. His hair grew back to it’s normal length, his eyes glowing red brightly before dimming to something more subtle. As the last of the magic flashed, his skin returned to the almost iridescent white, and he groaned lowly as his bones stretched until he stood at his normal height. He grinned widely as his teeth regrew in, and in a matter of seconds, he was back to his normal self. He lightly shook his arms, and rolled his shoulders as he settled back into his normal skin, and looked down to see his cane returning to normal. He wasn’t sure when Teller would call once again, but he was sure it would be soon. Metstalo would know soon enough that he did not complete the job as Teller had asked for him, not that Alistar really cared to anymore. He had plans to make quickly, especially if he was going to save Alexandria’s father’s soul before anyone knew the wiser. Metstalo certainly wasn’t strong enough to fight Alistar and win, even if he thought he might be, but he worked for an overlord who might be considered just as strong as he, though the demon thought not. Walking over to his wardrobe, he looked through the different outfits, and as soon as he found something he liked, he snapped his fingers to change. Where he once stood in an all black outfit, bright red replaced it. The shift was silk, stretching across his broad chest, and his pants were a midnight black. He rolled his sleeves up to his elbows as he thought about ways to dispose of Metstalo without starting an all out turf war, and do it before the day began anew. Before he was finished with his plans, the static-like ringing started from his cane, the yellow eye opening wide. “Boss, Teller is calling once more… And are you sure this deal with a good idea? You’re making a pretty dangerous enemy.” Alistar laughed deeply, “Yes my dear Cain.” He thought back to the mortal girl, the look of determination in her eyes as she swallowed her fear was something of admiration to the demon. Most mortals would have been terrified, shivering and desperate as they made a deal with any demon. Although, Alistar wasn’t typically one to make deals. Contracts were a hassle in his mind, and he had much more to worry about then trying to juggle mortal souls. His magic was better used to terrorize those in Hell, not the mortals who might one day land down here. As he though back to Alexandria again, he couldn’t help when his smile softened a little. She was a spitfire for sure, and although her after life would be hard, the overlord was sure he could find something for the girl to do once she landed in Hell. The ringing continued, and Alistar waved his hand to answer it. “Teller, my dear fellow, what do I owe the call this time?” “Is the deed done? My boss would like to know when he should expect his soul.” Teller’s voice was quiet, rough sounding like he was tired and ready to go to bed. Alistar thought through his responses before he settled on one. “Teller, I must admit that there was a bit of an issue, but I’ll want to talk to your boss directly about it.” “A… An issue? What kind of f*****g issue?” Teller’s voice picked up in pitch, fear lacing his words. The demon hummed lightly, “Something, like I said, I would need to talk to your boss about. Is he around? Perhaps we can meet within the next half hour.” “f**k. Alistar! This was suppose to be done tonight. What, the big bad Alistar couldn’t handle one f*****g human soul?” Alistar drew his eyesbrows together as the other demon on the phone cursed and raised his voice. This was growing tiresome quickly, and if Teller didn’t want to tell him where Metstalo was at, then he would just have to go looking for him without the help. “My word Teller, did you kiss your mother with that mouth? This situation does not call for cussing. Just let your boss know I would like to speak with him as soon as possible, and get back to me.” The eye on the cane glowed red for a moment before it closed, ending the call with Teller. Crossing his arms, the demon reached a hand up to tap his cheek, his eyes closed in contemplation as he tried to gather his thoughts together about how to go about meeting with Metstalo. As he started out of his room, and down the stairs, the ringing started up once again on the cane, and Alistar nodded towards it, without saying a word. A crackling sigh came through the air, before Teller started talking. “My boss said to meet him in the greed district, in 20 minutes. He wants to see you at The Fiery Cake.” Before Alistar could say anything, Teller hung up. The demon shrugged his shoulders lightly before hitting the bottom floor of his mansion. Looking around, he snapped his fingers to darken the house and left through the double doors, making his way through the courtyard once again and out of the gate. He thought of the greed district, envisioning the city before he hummed once, and teleported his body to the sidewalk in front of The Fiery Cake, a building that stood large against the neon lights of other buildings. A moving sign of a thin, naked woman stood out at the top of the building, one leg of the woman moving up and down, showing off neon underwear. Alistar was slightly offended at the sign, turning his head away from the sign, and letting out a deep breath. If this is where Metstalo wanted to meet, then this is where he would kill the demon. And what a hellhole it would be. He stared at the doors before entering, steeling his body, and widening his grin to a sinister look.
