“It’s time to leave.” Draka’s voice was low but commanding, a deep rumble that vibrated through Aria’s chest. She didn’t argue, there was no point. Not with him. She simply nodded and followed, her silent steps barely making a sound against the forest floor. They had traveled only a short distance when Draka halted. There, tied loosely to a tree, stood a large black stallion. Its eyes were wild, its breath misting the air, but it didn’t run. It just watched. “Abandoned,” Draka muttered or not. Either way, he didn’t care. It was his now. With no effort at all, he hurled Aria up onto the horse, her gasp swallowed by the wind, and mounted behind her.
