Another day.
Gowri pov.
Today is a spiritual day as my grandma said. My grandma had informed me yesterday night to wake up early to go to Temple as there is some pooja performed and it helps in our future. she said the main importance of doing this ritual. Which helps us to lead a happy life without any bad omen.
So here I am all dressed up in traditional attire cotton saree with jumkas, bangles, and Jasmine flower in my braided hair.
We are in Temple as per grandma's wish. There are Soo many females doing Pooja some of there husbands were helping them. They are Soo lucky even I dream my husband to be like that.
We were in Kalyani ( pond in Temple) the weather was full chilly. My grandma and Mumma lite the Diya and let it flow in the pond. They did pooja for kalsha( pot with coconut on top and five betel leaves surrounding the coconut) after pooja they hit the coconut and applied some kumkum. I was standing there and watching everything. At last, I did pooja as instructed by my grandma.
After that, I went to college. I had a continuously four-hour class. Completing all the work I was driving back home. The sky was turning dark indicating it may rain heavily.
But soon the sky turned to dark black color surely it was going to rain. To my bad luck, the water poured suddenly from the sky. The rain started to pour heavily I was fully drenched and couldn't drive further as the water drops were hitting my face.
I stopped my scooty and looked around either side there were fields and no one was seen. Without any help, I stood in front of the tree though I was knowing the trouble.
The rain didn't show any remark to stop. It continued to pour heavily not even a vehicle was moving. Even the phone network had a problem to call my grandpa.
I was standing there full drenched covering my body with my saree pallu. Thinking what to do?
Soon a car stopped in front of me which I noticed a little late. The sarpanch's son shiv with his son Vijay was there. I was now familiar with them.
Shiv: why are you standing there Gowri come on we will drop you.
Gowri: it's ok uncle my grandpa will come to pick me.
Vijay: we know that there is no network in this heavy rain. you should come with us rather than standing here and being food to a wild animal.
The first time he talked to me with that stern and husky voice.
Shiv: yes Gowri the wild animals are found in fields. So come with us. Once we are safe we will reach you home.
Gowri: but I am... Okay, uncle as you say.
I was shivering inside due to wet clothes.
Vijay: there is a jacket behind the seat you can wear.
Gowri: ahh
I looked at him to see her watching me through the front mirror. Soon I took a jacket and covered myself from his strong heat gaze.
In silence, we reached their house.
Shiv: come inside after the rain stops we will drop you home. It's already raining heavily we can't go further.
Gowri: okay.
as I stepped inside there house all were looking at me as an alien. Soon shiv uncle's wife Sitara came to me.
Sitara: omg what is this you are fully drenched in rain and you are cold. Come I will give you clothes changed to that.
Gowri: it's ok aunty I can manage.
Sitara: are you dumb or deaf come with me. Or else you will get a fever.
I went with her she gave me a saree and shall to wear and showed the way to the guestroom.
After changing I went down but no one was there.
Chapter 10
Vijay POV.
I and appa were returning back from our field works as all the workers went home early due to the weather.
As we started our vehicle it started to pour heavily and the clouds turned dark.
We saw a girl standing near the tree for shelter but she had already full drenched and shivering. Her dress stuck to her body. She tried to hide her body with her pallu.
With scooty standing beside her I guessed who is she. Even my appa did.
My family had met them in the marriage function. They quiet mingled with each other.
Appa said her to hop on the car we will drop her home but she first declined and accepted with scared of wild animals.
Due to heavy rain, we went to our home and took her with us.
My mom took her inside to give some warm clothes.
After a few min minutes saw her in saree and covered with shawl-like cotton candy.
Vijay: what are you doing here?
Gowri: ...I ..was ...searching for sitara aunty.
Vijay: all of them are in the kitchen. Come let's go.
We went to the kitchen she followed me like a lost kitten with a pout on her face due to my arrogant behavior. All of them looked surprised and shock to see me with her behind me.
I took my seat she went to my amma's side.
Sitara: here have this coffee it helps in the cold you will feel better soon.
She took the cup and drank hot coffee. And some snacks. But the rain didn't stop pouring.
Shiv: Gowri here take your father wants to talk to you.
Gowri: papa where are you? come and pick me na.....ok....but.....mumma it was raining..so only i.....ok...
Papa tells Mumma something....ok..bye.
She was sad after talking to her parents and started looking outside the window only to sign in sad as the rain was pouring continuously.
Shiv: don't worry Gowri we will drop you home once you reached.
Dadu: feel free to be here. No one is going to eat you.
She just nodded her and sat with Amma and had coffee.
