SHERIFF DALTON’S POV The pressure is unbearable. The town is in chaos, and I’m at the center of it. Mayor Elise is dead, and Casper is unraveling at the seams. People are calling me incompetent, saying I’m not doing my job. I have to get to the bottom of this. I stand in my office, staring at the board, the photos and notes pinned up like a twisted puzzle waiting to be solved. My gaze lands on a picture of Landon.
