CLARISSA’S POV The laughter and cheers from the poker game beside me barely register. The clinking of glasses, the shuffling of cards, the conversation between my friends—it’s all background noise. My focus is locked on the other side of the bar, where Landon is drinking like he’s trying to drown himself in the bottom of a glass. Something is wrong. Landon doesn’t drink like this. Sure, he’ll knock back a few at a party, but this? This is different. There’s an edge to the way he downs the alcohol, like he’s chasing numbness. A familiar unease twists in my gut. “Trouble in paradise?” I close my eyes for half a second, already knowing the voice before I turn. Pinky. Of course, it’s her. I roll my eyes, already exhausted before she even starts. “What the hell do you want?” She smirks
