Lorelei's new start

Lorelei!! Lorelei!!, Sofia screams at the top of her lungs. Lorelei in her room, not hearing her mom call her name, dances and sings along to the new music she just recorded with headphones on.

Sofia barges in and grabs the headphones smashing them to bits. Lorelei turns to look at her mom and is scolded. Are you deaf?, Sofia asked.

I'm so sorry I didn't hear you, Lorelei replies almost in tears. Sofia rolls her eyes while telling her that she will be leaving the house very soon with her boyfriend and that she would be back whenever. Lorelei tries asking further questions but Sofia just turns to leave saying Lorelei could do whatever she wanted while she was gone and slams the door after exiting.

Lorelei picks up her headphones not showing any sign of bother and puts it together with glue while humming. She isn't at all surprised or sad at her mom's behavior because for as long as she has known her mom, her mom has always never really cared about her the way she wanted. On a normal day she would have gone to visit her best friend but they haven't seen since she relocated with her mom and Tom (her mom's boyfriend).

She continues writing music since it's the only thing that can keep her busy. While writing, she gets a notification from one of her social media apps about one of her favorite social media stars going life and decides to watch the live video. She is in awe as she listens to her social media idol sing live and watches her get so many likes and comments wishing she was the one. Back when she was in her old town, her best friend had advised her to start her social media account to put her talent out there but she always refused saying she wasn't ready. She drops her mobile phone and lies down on her bed lost in her thoughts like she always is.

The next morning arrives and her mom is still not back but she isn't bothered in the slightest 'cause it isn't something new to her. She prepares herself for her start in a new school and practices some lines on how to impress the new faces she would be meeting.

She jokingly remembers her first day in her previous school and wishes she could go back but she knew it would never be possible as long as her mom still had a say in it. She eats breakfast and gets dressed and just about the time she would be leaving the house, her mom comes home drunk with Tom. Her mom pukes all over her when she gets close and she just gives a weak smile and takes her mom to her room to rest. She changes her mom's clothes, cleans up the vomit and gets Tom something to eat before changing her outfit and leaving for school. This was obviously not how she wanted her day to start but she just said to herself "I can still turn this day into something magical"...

On entering the school environment, she looks at students and takes a look at her school building. It was way fancier than her previous school so she found it beautiful. She steps into the hallway and while looking around, she accidentally bumps into the janitor who unintentionally spills dirty mop water all over her. She stands there in shock almost in tears and all eyes on her. She starts panicking and starts thinking of what to do while students film the scene and giggle softly when a boy approaches her with a jacket and leads her to a female restroom to clean herself up. She gets into the washroom quickly and cleans up herself a bit but the stench of the dirty water was still all over her. The boy passes to her from the bottom of the washroom's door some lost and found outfits he thought might just be her size. She picks it up and says thank you to the boy from inside the washroom and he smiles from outside and says "You owe me one"..

She smiles awkwardly and replied "Sure".

The boy walks away but the smile on Lorelei's face refused to disappear. She got changed and even though the clothes weren't her exact size, they were better than the ones soaked with dirty water.

She gathers courage before stepping out of the washroom and is directed by a staff to the principal's office. She gets there and is asked few more questions apart from her original information sent to the school before officially becoming their student. She is informed about various after school activities but she said she wasn't interested in any. Mid way of her conversation with the principal, a student walks in with some files and is told by the principal to show Lorelei around.

While giving Lorelei a tour, the student introduces herself as Annalise, the right hand man of the principal and the school's news reporter. Lorelei also tells her her name and from there their conversation takes off... Lorelei tells Annalise all about her previous life and friends and Annalise fills her in on the school's info. While talking Lorelei sees this really gorgeous girl and asked about her and is told by Annalise that her name's Naomie and she's the queen of the school. Annalise says that Naomi's dad is one of the wealthiest in town and they were really popular. Naomi had been ranked as the most beautiful female student in the school's prom last year and she was loved and envied by many. Even though Lorelei hardly knew Naomi, she was already so fascinated by just hearing all there is to know about her.

Annalise directs Lorelei to her classroom and she feels really nervous to enter. Annalise was in a grade higher than that of Lorelei's so they weren't going to be in the same class but Annalise assured Lorelei that she will always be around to help her out and encourages her to go into the classroom. Lorelei takes a deep breath and waves to Annalise and thanking her before entering the classroom. Annalise smiles and leaves after Lorelei enters the class and Lorelei is introduced to the other students by the teacher. Lorelei is asked to say her name and before she speaks a female student shouts out loud, "isn't that my Gucci top?".. Lorelei feels so ashamed as the class bursts into laughter while the girl embarrasses Lorelei saying she doesn't have good clothes so she's depending on the school's forgotten items. The teacher tries to caution the students but they ignored her. Lorelei was about to leave the class in tears when all of a sudden a girl walks in and hits the girl embarrassing Lorelei in the face with a book. Lorelei looks at her face and saw it was Naomi, the girl Annalise told her about. Lucia (the girl that got hit in the face with a book) screams out loud and shouts at Naomi for hitting her. Who do you think you are, huh?, Lucia says to Naomi. Just because you're pretty and rich doesn't mean you can go around hitting people who did absolutely nothing to you, Lucia continues. If you don't shut up right now you'll be sorry, Naomi said with a stern look. Naomi get lost because your empty threats won't work, okay?, Lucia replies back.

The teacher tries to end the argument but isn't taken seriously by the students.

You really don't want to mess with me Lucia 'cause I can do terrible things to you, Naomi said glaring at her. Lucia lets out a loud scream and kicks a table to the ground and storms out of the class while giving Lorelei a death stare.....
