“Fine, I accept," Ayla said with grated teeth. Lucas nodded, looking as though he was doing her a favor,” Alright then, let's get this over with" He brought out a document, thrusting it across to her on his desk along with a pen, nodding in its direction. “Sign that" He muttered, resting back on his swivel. Ayla picked it up gingerly and flipped the cover open, she ran her eyes through the content of the file, and a scowl splashed across her face. “What is this?" She asked. “I believe you have eyes and can very much read" Lucas snapped. "Anyways, to make this faster. The deal is that I would own 70% shares of the company and have the final say in the managerial decisions of the company. Plus, you'd have to work for me” " Are you kidding me?”Ayla blurted out," We agreed on 60/40 and I didn't agree to the part where I'd work for you" Lucas sighed," It seems you don't really need my help here, drop the document and get out then” Ayla drew in a deep breath, she needed his help even though he was an asshole, he was using her desperation against her. “Fine, I would sign it but first I would need you to transfer the money as promised to my account,” She told him smartly " Poor people and their stupid mentality” He muttered but was certain she heard him, he wouldn't care less if she didn't. " That wouldn't be a problem, just sign the freaking document, you're so exhausting” Ayla signed the documents after going through them again, she slipped them across to him and he peered into the printed paper and then nodded as he saw her signatures in the right places. He said nothing as she watched him pick up his phone and run his fingers through its screen, in nothing less than a minute she heard a pang from her phone. Ayla reached into her purse for her phone and her heart skipped when she saw the credit alert. Lucas was looking closely at her, he narrowed his eyes and dropped his phone. “Thank you so much" Ayla expressed her gratitude. He said nothing but stared at her as if she was speaking in another language, the arrogant look on his face made Ayla compose herself, almost regretting why she showed how happy she was, before him. “We would have to get to work immediately,” He told her. Ayla gave him a surprised look, that was certainly not what she had expected him to say. “But I have to go see my parents in the hospital, I would have to foot the bill for his surgery so it could commence immediately,” She said. " You can transfer to the hospital, can't you?" He snapped “But-" She was starting to say He cut her out in mid-sentence," I do not tolerate people who tend to piss me off with every word they utter, You stay here and resume immediately” Ayla stared at him surprised, she wondered how a person could be this wicked and ruthless. Hadn't she just told him that her parents were in the hospital and she needed to be there? “I promise I will be back, I just need to go see them," She pleaded. " I do not care if you need to see them or dance for them, I have made my words clear and I expect you to carry out my instructions without complaining,” He told her coldly. Ayla looked down at her feet as she felt tears stinging at the back of her eyes, but she couldn't let him see her this way, she couldn't let his words make an effect on her. “Okay, whatever you say" She replied, looking up at him. “Good,” He muttered, he opened his laptop," Go get me some coffee, I love my coffee with a teaspoon of milk and no sugar" Ayla gave him a 'you have got to be joking’ look. " Isn't that supposed to be the work of your secretary or maybe yours?”She asked him The look he gave her was killing, it could practically turn her to stone with those cold eyes of his. “ I think you have added being blind and dumb to your many problems. Look around, do you see a secretary or personal assistant around?”He snapped sharply at her, so sharp that it could practically pierce through her heart. What had she expected? He was so arrogant, insulting, and mean that she could bet anyone who got this close to working for him would have a heart seizure and die on the first day No wonder his employers looked like they had been forced to eat poop when she passed the staff quarters. “Okay," She said slowly, trying to calm her nerves,” But I don't know my way around" “Why then have you got eyes if not to make use of 'em? Ask around, this isn't a tunnel it's a workspace with people in it" He snapped. Ayla's fists balled upp at her sides, she stared at him as if she could rip his razor-sharp mouth out of his facee. God, he was so mean. She thought solely to herself. He got back to his laptop while she watched him, the company was incredibly big and it was quite a walk before she could locate the staff quarters. She felt like he was trying to close her down with an impossible errand, she wondered which turn she would take, if she followed the one she came into his office with, she'd be headed back to the elevator. “Alright but …do I take a staircase or something?”She asked He looked up at her and banged his laptop close, she jolted at the sound as his angry eyes looked up and rested on her. “Why don't you look for a parachute?" He spat at her like a venomous serpent. Ayla sighed and turned walking to the door and muttering something under her breath, she got to the door and was about to pull it open. “Miss Morrison," He called. She turned back to look at him as he leaned back on his chair and folded his arms across his chest. “Walk on your legs, you've got tons of things to do,," He said grimly.
