I hadn’t actually thought of my parents making me feel a little guilty.

“Umm. I’ll go do that now. Can you keep an eye on her?”

“No problem, Alpha”

I was in so much trouble. I probably should have called them first.

They had encouraged me to go to college to find a mate or maybe even a female strong enough to pretend they were my mate.

The day I came home drunk for the umpteenth time in a year had disappointed them. I sat in the bar night after night searching for anyone to show. The casual flings had not satisfied me and had not encouraged my pack to accept me. The gossip spread around, by each fling, added fuel to the fire. The title chasers decided that I was easy and I would make any of them at any time my Luna. This call was going to make their year.

Ma answered after the second ring. I was a little disappointed because I needed more time to stall before I dropped this bomb shell on them.

She took it well as any mom would. There were tears and she woke Pa up to tell him. They were on the phone for what seemed like forever. I just wanted to get back to my mate. I dropped as many casual hints as I could that I had to go. After nearly twenty minutes of celebrating, I finally said I have to go.

“Ma, I love you too and I’m glad you’re excited, but I have got to get back to my mate. I left her in the room with the guards and my beta.” I said.

Ma quickly answered me in a mischievous tone “ I didn’t realize, take care of her and I look forward to meeting her. Hopefully, you get to making me grandpups soon.”

I was mortified, but she had suffered with my mayhem, so maybe she was justified in her optimism.

“Good bye Ma, Goodbye.”

Upon returning to the her room, the silence from her room was unsettling. Levi was a great beta and would tell me if something was wrong, but I knew I needed some sleep and the only way I was going to get any was near her.
