The Forbidden Passion

Chapter Three

After Peter and his family left for his study, Nina bursted out laughing hysterically. She laughed so hard tears began to fall from her eyes. Samuel, her father looked at her with an irritated look in his eyes.

“Oh my God Dad. Don’t tell me that’s the person you wanna marry. I bet I’m more mature than she is. I mean did you she how she looked” she said in between laughter.

“Respect young lady” he yelled causing Nina and Benji to flinch in fear. “You will respect Ariana because she is my future wife and your step-mom. Do you understand?” he said, expecting their replies. “I said do you understand? He yelled again causing the kids another flinch. “Yes father.” They muttered in fear. “Good now let’s wait patiently till they get back” he said a little calmer as he sipped from his wine.

Their father wasn’t one to raise his voice or get angry easily but when Nina pushes him to the edge he gets aggressive and raises his voice.

While the Anderson’s had their little drama in the dining room the O’Brien’s had a more seriously one going on in the study. Ariana prepared herself mentally for whatever her we’re gonna say to her but she didn’t think her parents would stoop so low to do what they said.

“What was that rubbish you displayed out there Ariana” he father asked, pacing up and down the room expecting a reply from his daughter but she kept her face down and didn’t say anything. “Answer me this instant dammit” he yelled. Ariana flinched but still didn’t say a word.

“Do you have any idea how embarrassing and disrespecting that was. You didn’t just embarrass yourself, you did the whole family. You made the family look horrible in front of the Anderson’s.” Clara added.

“Oh so now you’ve gone mute. You were so confident back there. Where’s the confidence now” Brie said disrespectfully causing Ariana who had her face down to look up. She looked at Brie like she wanted to murder her, not that she would actually mind killing her.

“You have no fuckin’ right to talk to me that way you b***h” she spat with disdain causing Brie to scoffs in disbelief and annoyance but she kept quiet anyways. Knowing how her sister was, if she kept on talking then a huge fight is going to happen between them.

“You would not talk to your older sister that way. I didn’t train you to disrespect your elders much less your sister. So you will respect your sister” Clara said, coming to Brie’s rescue.

“I’ll talk to her and anyone however I damn well please. Y’all lost your respect when you decided it was okay to sell me to that old man out there just to save your freakin’ company” she snapped pushing back the tears making it’s way to her eyes.

“Excuse me!” Cole exclaimed, surprised by what he just heard. “You did what” he turned to his parents demanding an answer from them.

Peter and Clara kept their head down unable to reply so Cole to turn to Brie and asked “Brie, what did Ariana just say”. Brie kept her head down too, not saying a word causing Ariana to scoff in annoyance.

“Oh so now you’ve gone mute. Where’s your confidence now uhn?” she said, mimicking Brie.

“Okay would somebody here just tell me what the hell is going on” he yelled. Now it was his time to yell . Since they entered the study, he had been quiet, watching the whole drama unfold, he didn’t understand a thing they were saying but the last statement Ariana made caught his attention.

“Oh I’ll gladly explain to you” Ariana said, turning her attention to him. “Apparently the company is on the verge of bankruptcy so Samuel Anderson, dad’s old friend decided to help him raise the company back only if he’ll give me to him as a wife.”

“What!” Cole exclaimed. “And guess what brother.” She continued. “My amazing parents and sister thought I was in need of a husband and children that they didn’t even hesitate to sign the contract. They just signed it, selling me off like an item” she finished as the tears poured down her face freely.

“Mom, dad, Brie please tell me what Ariana just said is all a lie” he asked, looking at them in astonishment.
