My life as a werewolf

Chapter one

I honestly thought my family were close, but how wrong was I when I moved away with my mate Damian.

Hi, my names Tanya Gilford and I'm a werewolf. My mom and dad live within a pack called Swaleside. My father, Mitchel, is the Alpha and my mother, Susan, is the luna. Unfortunately my mother only had girls and never gave my dad a son.

I say that but what ibe learned is that the woman chooses how many and the man choose the gender. So really it was my dads fault he never had a son.

So he has had to sit back and watch his girls grow up and leave the pack to be with their mates. Two of us left and the other two stayed within the pack territory.

Over the years my fathers health has deteriorated and it has come to the understanding a new Alph will be pick from the pack to continue in my fathers footsteps and rule Swaleside.

I live within the territory of Riverside Pack in the north east of England. Damian and I try to live a normal life. He is a truck driver and does night shifts and I am a stay at home mum and nanny for some of the local ladies who wanted to go back to work. Riverside is huge so it looks like a town. Theirs the main pack house, shops, restaurants, schools and even a cinema at the packs disposal. Theres never really any reason to leave the territory as we have everything we need here.

I am a mother to five, yes I said five, wonderful pups. One girl and four boys. My oldest boy, Jonah, is 17 and he decided he wanted to join the RAF, I'm so very proud of him. My one and only daughter, Jessie, is 13 and attends the pack secondary school. Patrick is 10 and wants to be a guard for the Alpha. Louis is 8 and wants to be a doctor and last but not least, Ducan, my 6 year old. I swear he's really a devil. Hes a spitting image of his dad, blonde hair, dimples when he smiles but his eyes are a gold colour. My eyes are brown and Damians is blue so the three youngests eyes are a mix but Duncans is more gold. The older two take after me, brown hair and brown eyes, Patrick and Louis were born with blonde hair but that changed as they got older the same way Damiads did.

The truck company that Damian works for is actually owned by our pack Alpha. He has a few pack members that work with him plus a few other species. He knows for a fact that he has a few vampires as security workers, as different species have different smells and being a werewolf our sense of smell is heightened. Many of the pack members either work for the Alpha at the truck or work in the local shops and schools within the territory, others just stick to there pack duties.

Being apart of this pack for so long now I've noticed how people are with each other, polite and respectful. They are very much all about family and they see each other just as that, family. I'm lucky to get random calls off my mum. Usually it's one of the kids birthdays, Easter or christmas and that's about it. Unfortunately we lost my father a few months back and contact just seems to be nonexistent. I know she has my siblings there but I feel left out and not as important as them anymore. Being away from them makes me feel like I dont exist.

More each day I push it further to the back of my mind and concentrate on my family, my babies and Damian. They are what's important in my life. We live in one of the houses that are dotted around the land our territory and pack are built on. It's got four bedrooms over two floors, a nice medium sized garden and a driveway. I love my home and were slowly but surely making our mark on it. I love interior design so I love to figure out what a room will look like before we decorate. Damian leaves it to me and let's me know if he doesnt agree with something and we change it so we both like it. Two of the kids room are done, the kitchen needs a splash of paint and Jessie's room needs decorating. But, I've got my eyes on the living room and I'm excited to get started.

Monday to friday we have a routine of l, up, breakfast, teeth, dressed then out to school while Damian sleeps if hes been working. I do shopping and meet with some of the other mums of the pack and then head back home to do housework and wake Damian up for our afternoon routine. We pick the kids up together, ask about their day, have them read and get ready for dinner. Dinners always cooked and ready to eat by six and then it's ready for bed by seven. Being different ages they go to bed at different times. Our oldest doesnt live at home as he made it into the Royal AirForce. Weekends we try and get the kids out of the house and take them to the park or cinema, alot of the time though we join other pack families in outdoor activities. Saves the kids being stuck on their phones, tablets or consoles all the time.

Unfortunately over time things have changed and it been for the worst. Their are things happening around us we only see in movies and never think twice that it would actually happen in real life. All our lives get turned up side down and were lost. One thing we have learnt though is that it's only affected werewolves, not just our pack but other packs all across the country.
