DOMINIC I heard two sentences before I reached the bar. Sienna's voice, low and precise: "People from this world — they always come back to their own kind eventually." I kept walking. I had been watching the conversation from across the room for about ninety seconds. Long enough to see Elena's back straighten in that particular way that meant she was holding something down and doing it well. Long enough to see Sienna's smile and know exactly what sat behind it.
