Chapter 10

1423 Words
It took quite some time before I was allowed to go home, but I was the fastest one to heal. I did still have some aches and pains, but going home was something that helped me ignore it. "Where's Snowflake?"  "She's with Phantom and Hillyard." Lockwood said. "Okay, thank you." I ran off to Phantom's room. I didn't even bother knocking, I just walked right in. "Hello?" I called out. "Penelope!" Phantom yelled covering himself and a girl with his blanket. "Where's Snow" I couldn't care less about what they were doing. I mean, I think I saw someone naked in this house, other than Hunter, but I couldn't remember. "Who is Snow?" The girl asked. Just from her voice, I could tell that she's one of those stupid prissy bitches.  "She's my partner. I've been away for a while. I'm back now and I want to see her. I want to make sure she's okay." "Oh. That thing went off with Hillyard."  "Do not call her a thing." All emotion was gone from my face and my voice. "I will call it whatever I want." She got off the bed, her eyes never leaving mine. Stupid prissy b***h. "She is a wolf, not a thing. If you are calling her a thing, you are calling me a thing. I am a human she is a wolf. Get that through your thick, stupid, slutty blonde head of yours."  "Did you just call me a slut?" She raised her voice. Tsk, annoying. "I did. What are you going to do about it?" A slight smile formed across my lips. She walked up to me, raising her fist. I didn't flinch. "Vanessa! Don't! She just got out of the hospital! If you hit her, she could die!" Phantom stood up from the bed. Vanessa stopped for a second, seeming to think about it, but she punched me anyways. I stumbled back a bit. Looking right at her, I knocked her legs out from under her and sat on her stomach. "I can take you down easily, as you have just seen. Do you wish to continue fighting, or do you want to back down?" "Vanessa, back down." Phantom said. I guess he really doesn't want there to be a fight in his room.  I stared at her, waiting for her answer. She gave the wrong one. She reached up and pulled my hair, making it so that she was pinning me down. "I will not back down to a 15 year old girl!"  I pushed her off me, pinning her this time. "One, I'm 17! Two, I don't back down either! Three, I could kill you if I so chose to!" With each point, I punched her in the face. Vanessa and I fought tooth and nail in Phantom's room. Her being  nude made it harder for me to fight her, but in the end, it was a tie. Dad and Hunter pulled us apart. She left quite a few bruises all over me, and  I left quite a few bleeding bite marks all over her. I half snarled, half growled at her. I shrugged Hunter's hands off my shoulders, turned and walked away. Hunter followed me around as I looked for Snowflake and Hillyard. "Snowflake, where are you my little puppy?" I called out for her.  "You aren't going to find her that way." "Than you find her if you're so smart." I was sarcastic about it, but he made me sit and stay while he went to look for her. "Why do I have to be the obedient one?" I thought out loud.  The bird from the hospital fluttered down beside me. "Because that's who you are." "Who are you?" "I'm Hunter's partner, Demon. I doubt you remember me though." "You're right. I don't remember you. I remember Hunter, but not you." His wings fluttered as Hunter walked toward us. "Quick, do me a favor!" "What?" I tilted my head. "Rub your fingers between my wings." "Why?" I raised my eyebrow.  "Just do it and watch Hunter's face." I shrugged and rubbed where he told me to, watching Hunter's face turn bright red. I giggled and rubbed a little more. "Not too much." I pulled my finger away "Why not?" "Demon! You had to show her that spot didn't you! You know for a fact I hate it when you do that!" Hunter yelled, hiding something with her wrists. "Hey! I was itchy and I couldn't reach it! It seems she just so happened to hit that spot! It wasn't my fault." Demon took off quickly. "Did he tell you to rub that spot? Please don't lie to me." "Yes, he did tell me to do it." I answered honestly. No point in lying to someone I knew was my friend. "I am going to kill that bird." The sheer anger in his eyes scared me. I stood quickly and took a couple steps back, bumping into Chris. Everything started flashing again, but this time it different. This time, I saw everything. From the day I was born, to the moment I stepped away from Hunter. I slowly opened my eyes to see Hunter's worried face over mine. "Penny! Penny can you hear me?!" My words were a mixture of a mumble and a groan. I felt a pain in my chest and the back of my head. "Penny! Talk to me!" I sat up quickly and looked around. "Are you okay?" He was slightly calmer now, but I could tell he was still worried. "I remember."  "What do you remember?" Chris asked, mirroring Hunter's worry. "Everything. From the day I was born to the moment I stepped away from Hunter. All because of you, Chris." I paused for a second. "How did you do that?" He thought for a moment, then shrugged. "I'm not sure. To be honest, I was just coming up to put you in a headlock. I know you like to wrestle." "Well, thank you." I smiled at him. "Your smile is adorable. Did you know that?" "No." "Well it is, and now I'm late. My date is probably waiting for me." "Your right hand is always waiting for you." Hunter said.  "This time, it isn't my right hand. He's actually real, and is still waiting for me." I heard him curse as he took off. "He?" I looked at Hunter.  "Yeah. He's gay. Didn't you know that?" "No. I don't normally hang out with him. Just you, Wolf, Kill, Demon or Snow." I paused when realization kicked me in the face. "Crap! Snowflake!" I took off, looking for her. I called her name so many times. It felt like forever while I was looking for her, but I found her. She was asleep under a large oak tree. I couldn't help but smile at how cute she was. I sat down beside her and pat her head lightly, she didn't wake up so, I tickled her paws. She woke to that with a snap of her jaws."Good morning sleepy face." I smiled lightly at her. "P-Pen?!" "Yes Snow. It's me. Did you miss me?" I watched her face light up like the 4th of July.  "I did miss you. I missed you the moment we got separated. I don't want that to happen again, so, from this moment on, I promise that I will never fight with you again. Never ever again." Her words brought me to tears. "Snow, that promise cannot be made. You know that we will be bound to fight. It's in our nature to fight. It will always happen." "Than I will try my hardest no to fight with you!" She raised her voice. I pulled her close and snuggled her. She may be fully grown now and super heavy, but she will always be my little puppy. We ended up falling asleep under the oak tree, but was rudely woken by a loud explosion. "Pen, what was that?"  I looked around then stood up, keeping my hand on her head. "I'm not too sure. It sounded like an explosion."  "What do we do?" She asked, but I didn't answer her. I gave her ear a gentle pull to tell her to stay with me and I ran back to the house.  "Lockwood! Lockwood!" I called out. "What is going on?" The worry in my eyes and voice were as clear as daylight. "I don't know. Your father and I are going outside the gate to find out."  "I'm coming with you." I was determined. "No. I need you here to calm our people down."  "I can't do that. Plus, I know more about the outside world than you do."  "No, and that's final!" His voice was stern and sharp. I had no choice but to listen and stay inside the gates. They left, and didn't come back. They were gone for a long time. "Where are they?" I thought.
