Chapter 3

Freya’s POV “What the f**k do you think you’re doing?!” Leon’s voice cracked like lightning through the underground garage. He closed the distance in two furious strides, eyes glowing a violent, bloody red. “You dare raise your hand to my woman?” Chloe sat sprawled on the dirty concrete, her expensive dress ruined, clutching her cheek. When she pulled her fingers away, they were smeared with blood. She let out a high-pitched wail that echoed off the walls. “I’m hurt! It stings so much!” she cried, tears streaming down her face. The sound of running feet…heels and heavy boots, filled the garage. Pack members and guards poured in, drawn by the commotion. I stood my ground, breathing hard, my own arms still bleeding from Leon’s claws. “Then tell your ‘woman’ to back the hell off!” My eyes burned as they shifted to crimson, matching his. Gasps rippled through the growing crowd. “You… you’re an Alpha?” Leon’s mother stared at me, her face pale with shock. “I thought you were just an Omega. How is this possible?” Leon backed up a step, confusion and something close to fear flickering across his features. “What are you?” I ignored the sting in my arms and the way my heart kept fracturing. “Do you want to give me the credits or not?” I asked, voice steady despite everything. “If not, fine.” He glanced down at Chloe, who was still sobbing dramatically on the ground, then back at me. “And you’ll leave? Never come back?” I nodded. “I’ll be gone. It’ll be like I never existed.” For a long second, he just stared. Then he flipped open the checkbook, scribbled something, and tore out the slip. He tossed it at me like trash. “Leon!” Chloe screamed, her voice raw with fury. “Are you f*****g kidding me right now?” He didn’t even look at her. I caught the paper mid-air and glanced down. In bold, angry strokes he had written: f**k you. “Get out of my pack,” he growled. His guards grabbed me roughly by the arms, ignoring the fresh blood, and started dragging me away. As they pulled me toward the exit, I heard the pack members hurling insults, their voices dripping with disgust. Leon stayed behind, pulling Chloe into his arms, cuddling her like she was the only thing that mattered. His voice slid into my mind through the link, cold and final. “I, Alpha Leon Grant, reject you, Summer, as my fated mate and future Luna. You are nothing to me.” A sad, broken smile tugged at my lips. He couldn’t even say it to my face. What a coward. I answered the same way, my mental voice steady. “And I, Summer Rain, accept your rejection, Alpha Leon Grant. You are nothing but a speck of dust to me.” The mate bond snapped. Pain exploded through my chest like someone had driven a silver blade straight into my heart. I gasped, stumbling in the guards’ grip. Across the garage, Leon clutched his own chest, face twisting in agony. The tether that had once connected us, pulling, yearning, loving, shattered completely. They threw me out of the estate gates like garbage. I hit the ground hard, gravel biting into my palms and knees. “Get lost,” one guard spat. “Don’t come back.” I stayed there for a moment, breathing through the pain, dust coating my torn dress. Slowly, I pushed myself up, wiped my hands, and pulled out my phone. My fingers trembled as I scrolled through contacts, hesitating on one name before pressing call. “Hello? Who is this?” “This is Freya,” I said quietly, clenching my fist until my nails dug into my palm. “And what do you want?” “I’m ready to claim my inheritance,” I said, my voice gaining strength. “But first, I need a favor. Can you come pick me up? I’m standing right outside Alpha Leon’s estate.” I ended the call and slipped the phone back into my purse. They all thought I was weak, spineless, a nobody, a pathetic Omega who got lucky enough to catch the Alpha’s eye for a while. None of them knew the truth…that I was the hidden heiress to one of the most powerful and wealthiest families in our world. They had no idea I wasn’t just any wolf. I was a hellhound. We didn’t fit into their neat little rankings. No Alpha, Beta, or Omega labels for us. We could mask our scent, walk among them undetected, and match the strength of any wolf when we chose to. Leon thought I was useless? He had no idea how dangerous I could become. An hour later, a convoy of sleek black SUVs rolled up, headlights cutting through the darkness. A young woman stepped out of the lead vehicle, dressed in an elegant black gown with my family’s crest embroidered on the chest. Behind her, bodyguards in sharp tuxedos moved with disciplined grace. “Your father sent us, Princess Freya,” she announced, bowing deeply. The rest followed suit, voices ringing out in unison. “Welcome, Princess Freya!” I stood a little taller, the night air cool against my tear-streaked face and bloodied arms. The pain in my chest was still there, raw and throbbing but beneath it burned something new…Revenge. Leon and his precious pack had thrown me away tonight. Soon, they would learn exactly who they had rejected. And they would regret it with every breath they took.
