Chapter 15 Before I could say a word or think what had happened--he bent down and picked me up in his arms as though I weighed nothing. I was shaken by the cold and shocked, but I have to struggle. All my instincts scream at me to drive him away, insist he put me down, and keep whatever respect remained in me. But I had nothing. Totally nothing more to give. The heat of his body was the first actual warmth that I experienced in a long time, and, despite all, despite who he was, what he symbolized, I was becoming weak in his arms.
