“I’ve already done that, but he says he’ll remain here until he receives instructions directly from Klempner.”
“That could be a while, with the condition he’s in. The doctors are keeping him sedated still.”
“Not a problem. I’ve told Hickman to make himself at home in the hotel and spa and to treat it as a holiday. I’ve also given him a fat bonus on top of whatever Klempner’s been paying him.”
“Thank you, that was good of you.”
Richard shrugs. “He was guarding Elizabeth too, and the children. And I don’t think he’s taken a day off since you left… James?”
“Ah-ha?”
“I assume that Klempner doesn’t yet know of Mitch’s pregnancy?”
“There’s been no opportunity to tell him yet. He managed to mumble a few words when we found him, but he really wasn’t properly conscious.”
