Wake up Katy, breakfast is ready and you are running late for school, Mum says as she storms into my room to open the blinds. It’s time already?? I say groaning as I get up to get set for school.

I’ve been looking forward to this day, it’s been a long I’ve seen my girls. Becky spent her summer at the beach house with her family, and Tina got a part-time job so we barely hung out, days when she was free, she spent it taking care of her grandmother at home. We got a chance to meet last night at the movies. We spent it together before school officially resumed. We are not the most famous trios in school, nobody knows we exist. There were the popular kids and then there was us. Katie, Becky, and Tina, The girls that spent most of their time studying and joining extracurricular activities in school. We just exist in the school but we weren’t so important. That’s how I feel anyway.

Today is my first day in school after the summer break, I’m looking forward to seeing them again. Becky spent her summer at the beach house with her family she always sent us pictures of the ocean view and pictures of her and her new boyfriend who is an older kid.

“All set??” Mum says as she watches me climb down the stairs to the kitchen. “I made pancakes and strawberries, your Dad is already at work by the way. He told me to say Hy to you” “ Okay Mum” I say, stuffing up my face as I go to the fridge to grab a soda to drown the pancakes Down. “I told youuuu, no soda in the morning!” Mum screamed towards me while I grabbed my bag and headed off to the door. “Love you mum”.

I’m not going to lie, I’m excited to be back in school. The school looks so alive compared to when I’d drive by with my mum during the break to go grocery shopping. “Hey, girrrrl” Tina screams skating towards me looking like she was ready to pounce on me with all excitements on her face. Tina, we met at the movies last night I say giggling as I hugged her. Tina is a tall playful girl, who didn’t give a s**t about what people thought about her. She had the most irregular fashion sense, she loves to play with her outfits she calls them “innovation”. “My type of style would soon become a trend for everyone” she would always say when we pointed out her outfits. Seen Becky around? I asked as we walked to our various lockers. There She Is!! Becky was ahead of us already at her locker, Tina and I both ran towards her and we pounced on her. Oh, Becky, you have soo much to tell us. So how is Peter?, how are you both dealing with long-distance, Did you guys do it?? Will you meet again?. “OH my God girls, calm down I’ll tell you everything,” Becky says giggling as she unpacks into her locker. Well as a matter of fact yes We did it. Your girl had her firrrrsssst”. Becky told us all about her summer vacation that turned out romantic for her, while Tina and I filled her in on what we did while she was gone.

I feel like the little girl in the group, I haven’t had my first, I’m always closed up in my room buried in novels. Even Tina has been talking to someone new but she won’t tell us who, “Pssssst 12:00” Becky says as she nudges me towards that direction. Jake? I said rolling my eyes. “He looks really cute now over the break don’t you think?” I studied Jake properly, and watched him as the girls in the hallway were drooling over him, Jake the high school jock that all the girls wish they could have. I can swear Becky even has a little crush on him. “I don’t see the cute you are talking about Becky” I lied as I locked my locker and we headed towards class. “I catch you staring at him in class sometimes you know,” Tina says. “Staring at him??? I don’t know what you are talking about Tina”, I lied, again. “let’s stop fantasizing about a High school jock please”. Yes, Jake is a high school bad boy, He plays multiple girls, lives alone which he’s too young to do, and has an annoying girlfriend which he isn’t into. Why even is he dating Ruby Rose when it’s obvious he doesn’t care about her. “You know Katy,” Tina says as we walked into class “you pretend you don’t care about Jake but it’s obvious you have a giant crush on him” she smirked at me as we went to our various seats. God, I hate her, she knows me way too much.
