JAKE

I hate the weekends, weekends are the only days I’m left with my thoughts, it’s been very hard living in this part of the world. Hiding my identity isn’t easy coupled with the fact that Rolf is in me. Rolf is my innermost wolf. Well, If it isn’t clear already, I’m from a clan of wolfs. Rolf hasn’t been doing much lately, he’s always inside sleeping, he doesn’t get to go out much because I’m forced to hide my identity in this part of the human world, so him and I barely ever switch places. Whenever I need to switch places with Rolf, I’m forced to drive to the out-sketch of town to the woods, where I can get a little privacy. That is when I let Rolf out. He takes the longest of runs with so much excitement, I wish I can provide Rolf with more runs like this, but I have to keep who I am a secret, I can’t risk any of this. And that is why let Rolf out for a run once a month. I am in this part of the Human world because I’m not safe with my pack. Mum comes to see me from time to time, it’s almost time for me to go back to my world, am I ready? It’s a lot of pressure on me. I got a text on my phone “Hey baby, can I come over tonight?” It’s Ruby. I swear I can’t remember why I asked the human out, I guess I just wanted the distraction from my world after moving here. But now she just won’t stop clinging to me. I’m not going to end up with her anyway, my mate would be from my pack. I texted back “I’m sorry baby, I'm not home at the moment but I’ll text you when I get back” I never plan on texting. I dropped my phone and got some sleep.

The bell rang, meaning it was time to head back to class. I was lost and confused the first time I heard that bell. Humans get controlled by bells??, it’s ridiculous. It’s been fun living here and seeing the lifestyle of these people. My classes ended and Ms. Linda called me back after the bell. “Jake, can I see you for a min?” I picked up my books and walked to her desk to hear what she had to say, I know it’s not something good, it’s never been good. I’ve been slacking with my education since I got here, it’s not like we don’t do schools where I’m from, I just have zero interest in all of these “Your grades have been messy Jake, and as your teacher, I need to make sure you are doing well in school so you don’t have issues applying for college” College, they won’t shut up about college. I’m clocking 18 soon and I’m leaving this place anyway. So what do I care about college? “Yes I see that ma’am, I’ve been trying but it seems I’m not a natural with books”, I said trying to look as sincere as I could “oh I understand Jake, that’s okay, not everyone is a natural, some of us have to put an extra effort to succeed in school while some people do not” I nodded and tried to force a smile to comply with her, she continued “so that’s why I’ve decided to give you a personal tutor from your class, she’ll be here any moment. She’s a smart student and she’s an A’ student also, she’s very excited to tutor her classmates to improve. She’ll be here any moment” she’s assigning me a tutor??? Heck I’m not interested in having one. She’s out to force me to do better. “oh there she is!” Ms. Linda exclaimed with her hands directing towards the door. A girl walked in, she was dressed in jeans and a top, with her backpack hanging behind her, her hair was in a rough knot and she had on a pair of glasses. she looked horrified the moment she saw me but then brushed the look off her face immediately and pushed her glasses up from her nose. “Uhmmm hello,” she said. “Hy Katelyn, how are you today?. Thanks for making it” Ms. Linda said. I think I’ve seen the girl around, we take classes together, but I’ve never really noticed her till today. She looked quite shy and uncomfortable. “Are you okay? It seems like you are uncomfortable with this new development” I said to her. Her face flushed immediately “oh no, I’m..I’m naturally a shy person, I’ll adjust when our tutorials start” she said and forced a little smile.” “Okay Jake, this is Katelyn, Katelyn this is Jake,” ms. Linda said her gestures at the girl and I. She took my hand let go, and said “so when are you ready to begin our tutorials” “I’ll let you know when I’m ready, we can just exchanges contacts and talk about this over text” we exchanged contacts and while I was ready to leave, ms.Linda said “okay Jake, I’ll be looking forward to seeing improvements within the semester,” she said smiling while she was standing up to take to leave. I guess I have to take this tutorial seriously since she wants an improvement. I let her leave first and was about to step out after her when I turned around to the girl and said “you are coming along?” “Oh no go ahead, I have some things to sort out at my desk” “Alright then, see you around Katelyn” “oh no please, just call me Kate or Katie” I nodded and walked out.
