I walked towards my desk because I needed to take a seat, I am going to tutor Jake wuttenburg????. I said to myself, “I am going to tutor Jake Wuttenburg!!” I blurted out falling on my desk with excitement. Immediately I realized what I was doing, I got up and fixed myself. No way Kate, you are not doing this. I messed it up, he probably thinks I’m weird anyway. When Ms. Linda told me I’d be tutoring someone, I didn’t think in my wildest dreams ever that it was going to be Jake, The! Jake. I thought about any other student but him. I fixed myself, picked up the books I needed from my desk, and headed towards the locker where my girls were at. I couldn’t hold my excitement anymore, I sprinted towards them at their locker and said “Guess what you guys”, “You got a new book for your Charles Darwin collection?” Tina said with so much sarcasm in her tone. I rolled my eyes and said “No I would have jumped off the roof if I had that” “I am going to tutor Jake Wuttenburg” I said with a very squeaky voice which I didn’t expect to pop up. Becky moved from her locker, looked at me, and exclaimed “whatttt!?, oh my God how did this happen?” “Well, let’s give all our thanks to Ms.Linda,” I said giggling. Tina laughed and said “well well, you are finally admitting your feelings towards Jake huh,” she said smirking at me while nudging me jokingly. “Stop it, Tina,” I said laughing while trying to hide my pink face in my locker.

I got home, changed into something comfortable, sat on my bed, and waited for Jake to text me. It felt like I was going crazy. Because I was feeling a whole new excitement. Maybe this is my chance, to hang out with him more, He might notice me more and who knows, just who knows. There was a knock on my door, “come in” I said towards the door without moving from my bed. Jake is probably not interested in this because why has he not texted. “Hy munchkin,” Dad said while stepping into my room. I don’t see dad around much because of the density of his job. He’s always busy with work and he steps out of the house even before I’m up for school. “Hy Dad,” I said sitting up from my bed spreading my arm for a hug. My family and I have the best relationship, we always create time for each other and have meaningful conversations about each other. Our dinner tables are always interactive. Besides I’m not always the one to be on my phone so we never use our phones at the dinner table. “I came to see how you have been because I haven’t seen my munchkin in a while,” my dad said while accepting my offer for a hug “I’m fine Dad, work has been tough huh”. We both talked about very basic things and my dad decided to go to his room for a long rest. “Ding!” A text! finally a text!. I grabbed my phone immediately to see who the text is from “so when are you ready to start, I’m free during the weekends, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school” it was Jake! OMG. “Okay your time would be convenient for me, I have Science club after school on Wednesdays, so our tutorials would be a little bit late on those days” I texted back immediately. I started to think that maybe I should have given it time a little not to seem desperate. I feel like I’ve already messed it up with the face I had on seeing that Jake was the one I would tutor. He noticed it, he noticed my horrified face. You should have done better Kate. “That is fine by me, where should we meet up, my place or your place”. I did not want Jake to come to my house, I know the type of family I have. Mum would do all her possible best to make things awkward. Because I’ve never dated anyone or spoken to them about any guy. She would go way over her head seeing Jake in our house. “Your place” I texted back and dropped my phone trying to hold my excitement. I texted the girls immediately to tell them everything.
