Chapter 7: The Heart's Desire

Eros's reply came almost instantly, a single word that sent a jolt of electricity through Lily: "Where?"

Her heart pounded as she typed a quick response, "The usual coffee shop, in an hour."

She spent the next hour pacing her dorm room, her mind racing with a million thoughts. She knew she was making a mistake, a reckless choice. Alex was a good man, a stable and reliable presence in her life, but Eros... Eros was a whirlwind, a force of nature that pulled her in with an irresistible force.

As she arrived at the coffee shop, Eros was already waiting for her, his eyes filled with a mixture of hope and apprehension. He stood up as she approached, his smile a flicker of warmth in the otherwise cool atmosphere.

"Lily," he said, his voice a low murmur. "I've been thinking about you."

Lily felt a wave of emotion wash over her. She had missed him, missed his touch, his laugh, his way of making her feel like she was the only woman in the world.

"I've been thinking about you too," she replied, her voice trembling slightly.

They sat down at their usual table, and Eros ordered two cappuccinos. As they sipped their coffee, Lily took a deep breath and spoke.

"Eros," she said, her voice firm. "I need to be honest with you. I'm seeing Alex. But I'm not happy. I'm not in love with him."

Eros's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't interrupt. He listened patiently as Lily poured out her heart, confessing her feelings for him, her fear of getting hurt, and her desire to be with him.

"I've been trying to ignore it," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "But I can't. I'm in love with you, Eros."

Eros smiled, his eyes filled with a mixture of relief and joy. "Lily," he said, his voice husky. "I've been waiting for you to say that."

He reached across the table and took her hand, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through her. "I'm in love with you too," he whispered. "I've been in love with you since the moment I saw you."

Lily felt a surge of happiness, a sense of relief. She had finally made a choice, and she knew it was the right one. She was in love with Eros, and she was ready to face whatever came next.
