“You can’t stay here,” Gerald said once the police took the streamers away “Why not?” I asked and he looked around the house like he was just taking notice of the place “Why do you live like this?” He asked making my chest tighten “What do you mean?” I asked, knowing fully what he was talking about, the light in the living room was dimly lit flickering above our heads. The cracked walls with molds all over them, and the wooden floor creaked with every step. He looked around again and then eyed me like I had asked the dumbest question ever. “You can’t stay here,” he said “Pack a few things to go” he added making confusion draw on my face “What are you talking about, why the hell will I have to leave here?” I asked “Because it isn’t safe, reporters can brag in and out of this place
