A WARNING

Darkness swallowed her. But it wasn't empty. She was falling - not through air, but through light. Colors bled around her, the same silver, violet, and blue from the sky, spiraling like liquid starlight. Her body felt weightless, suspended in a void where time stretched thin. Every heartbeat echoed like thunder across an unseen expanse. The air shimmered, and then - a voice. Soft at first, almost a whisper behind her thoughts. "Don't trust anyone." Amaris spun, though she wasn't sure which way was up anymore. "Who's there?" Her voice came out small, swallowed by the glow. The light pulsed - closer now, like a presence moving through the veil itself. "It's not what it seems. They've hidden the truth... even from him." Her breath hitched. "From who?" No answer - only the sensation of someone, or something, brushing past her, close enough to send a shiver through her soul. The light fractured again, fragments swirling faster until they became blinding. "Wait-!" There was silence.... A voice slipped through the silence, soft yet heavy as thunder. "Don't trust anyone." the voice repeated. Amaris froze. The voice wasn't loud; it spoke from everywhere - the wind, her pulse, the hollow behind her thoughts. Her lips parted. "Who is this?" "It's not what it seems. The truth sleeps beneath their lies. The fracture... was not yours to bear." Light flared, and for an instant, she saw visions flicker across the void - a circle of symbols drawn in flame, a pair of hands bound by light, a seal breaking with a scream that sounded like her own. Her pulse raced in fear and desperation."Show me-show me what this means!" "They'll try to silence you as they silenced us. Find the relic before they find you." The voice deepened, echoing through her veins. "The closer your bond gets, the more you both will uncover the truth." Her breath caught. "Why can't you just tell me?" A pause - then, almost sorrowfully: "Because you need to see for yourself." Her voice trembled. "Who are you?" For a heartbeat, silence. Then- "Iris." The light shattered. Amaris fell through color and sound, her body weightless, her name echoing from a thousand distant mouths. And then- She woke up, gasping, the world rushing back in harsh clarity. The sky above her was still and dark. Her heart pounded as though it remembered something her mind couldn't. The trails of light were gone - but the echo of that voice lingered, whispering her name like a promise.
