16. Ride.

Heri's Point of View.

After we had a small brunch like thing with Grandpa Kip, both Galen and me went our way. Me to my company while him to his.

Actually Iklu's people have rare cases where we have our business setup here. And this is mainly taken of by Grandpa Kip, he does not administer it but it is made all on his name.

This business is kept for there not to be any question about consumption of goods. Like the many books that we buy are bought in the name of my company which is a company dealing with books and publishing, while the many machines and automobiles bring in to Iklu is bought in the name of Galen's company so there is no question of where it is going.

And besides this company serve as a great way for people of Iklu to have employment if they ever want to love outside Iklu.

And also we take in many things from the real world. Like the world has a lot of shitty things and a lot of wholly wrong concepts as well, but on the brighter side it also store a lot of valuable information and life saving idea.

So we make sure to get all the good resources as much as possible. Like all the medical knowledge we can learn, all the political idea that we can get, all the safety techniques we can mimic. If it can bring something good, we make sure we learn it as well. So it is my duty to bring in all the books, after I make sure that it is useful and nothing crappy.

But the funny thing about a book is that, nothing in one is all useless while nothing is one is all useless.

Even the best book has some faults while even the worst book has its merits. So it is really up to the reader as to what they want to learn and what they want to ignore.

Anyway the whole day I was there in the library, looking through all the book we need in Iklu to be brought back. And making necessary arrangements for its transportation. Contacting Tilbe here and there for any updates and like that the day pass by in a jiffy, and in no time it is evening again now.

Looking at that with a sigh I went out to go to Grandpa place. I was suppose to stay in my flat which I always stay at, but Grandpa insist that I stay behind.

A while back in the morning.

We finished with our small brunch and now it was already noon, and that means I have to leave so I initiated the conversation to that subject.

Heri: Grandpa, it was really lovely to meet and thank you so much for the filling brunch. But unfortunately I have to go now, I promise the fruit basket that I will be back by tomorrow so I need to move along quickly.

When I said that grandpa also nod in agreement although looking regretful.

Galen: I also need to get going, why don't

we leave together?

I nod agreeing with him, come on leaving with him in like an blessed bonus for me.

Grandpa: Yes, you kids go do your job. Although it is a shame that I could not spend this merry afternoon with you guys, but its okay since you are coming back for the night.

I look at him confused by his word, Iam coming to this place at night?

I look up at Galen to ask if he knew anything about this but he also look at grandpa confused.

While looking at our confused face, grandpa also look at us confusedly.

Grandpa: You guys are not thinking of staying elsewhere right?

And grandpa look at us in an accusing manner, his gaze pointed and stern. While Galen quickly raised his hand in a surrender manner and speedily said.

Galen: Not me, Iam staying here all the way.

I look at him in disbelieve, the betrayal that I feel in that moment is unbelievably heavy.

Feeling my accusing gaze, he look down at me and give me an innocently shrug, which is absolutely not innocent.

Grandpa: Heri?

I look back at Grandpa and start my nervous explanation, why Iam this nervous? I'll never know.

Heri: I have a flat here, so I think I'll be staying ther.... but surely why would I pass in having to stay with Grandpa. I'll be back later, thank you in advance for all the the arrangement made for me.

I smile politely while Galen turn his back on us stifling his laughter. While Grandpa smile agreeing fully to my words.

I mean I was about to deny, but then Grandpa's expression of hurt and the empty givelessness he show in his eye, I can't never say no to that.

Moreover he is not inviting me just because he thought that Iam Galen's girlfriend.

Rather it is in the nature of people in Iklu mainly elders that they invite someone who came from somewhere else in their house to stay the night. It's not about not availability of hotel or not able to pay or anything like that. It's just the nature that the people of Iklu have, which is inviting someone to their house for however long they stay in that place. It's kind of a tradition. And a kind and a warm one at that.

And also when elder or grandma and Grandfathers give or offer us something, even if it is the smallest of a sweet or the biggest of a gold and we deny it, it is taken that we deny it cause we think it is not worthy enough. And it is politeness and show how much we love them when we take something they gave us happily and also made them happy.

Grandpa: Then I will see you this evening Heri, and Galen.

I nod happily while Galen also nod in agreement.

And like that we went out with both of us shouting.

Heri/ Galen: Iam going now Grandpa, I'll be back shortly!

Both of us look at each other and laugh silently.

It is a habit of mine to always shout out stuff like that when Iam leaving and I guess someoneles have that habit too.

When we leave, Galen went to the Garage and take his car while I also went to take mine but he stop me by holding me back.

While I look at him in confusion.

Galen: Let me drop you and will come to pick you up later.

I shake my head in denial while saying.

Heri: It's okay, I can drive myself. Beside it will be inconvenient for you anyway.

And I shrug and was about to went away again, when he got my arm and look at me with a frown while I look at him in confusion.

Heri: What?

Galen: How have you become so insensitive? I obviously want to drive you cause I want to spent some more time with you, if not why else will I avoid such a beautiful car as yours? Or you can drive me too, Iam in as long as we are together.

Well isn't this sweet now, my heart keeps in fluttering because of all this romantic thing he keep on saying.

Heri: To protect our environment?

He look at me in disbeleive while I chuckle t my own joke. Hey, carpooling doo save our environment.

Galen: Shall we walk to save our environment then?

I quickly answer, not having any stamina to walk on such a sunny day.

Heri: Lead the way, Iam sorry for being the insensitive one.

With that I follow him to his sexy black mercedes which look heavenly. He open the door for me while I get in with a small thank you.

And just so you are thinking why my car is here as well. Well, most of us which is only a few as not many people from Iklu stay out here, but for convenience we keep our cars here.

Anyway we drive out with me putting in my direction to the gps while Galen driving.

Galen: Oh! I have forgotten something.

I look up at him, expecting him to turn or stop to go and take whatever it is.

Heri: What is it? Shouldn't we go back to take it?

He chuckled softly as I said that.

Galen: I think I should just do it later on.

I look at him a bit confused by his attitude.

Heri: And that is?

Galen: I forgot to thank Grandpa for doing me such a grand favor of inviting you to stay the night. I was thinking what I should do to keep you near, but I guess I can just stand back now.

I smile at that, well if we look at it that way I think the advantage is two way.

Heri: Then I should also thank Grandpa, he did me such a favour too.

When I said that he laugh softly, his soft attractive and mesmerising looking laugh.

Galen: If only had I knew you like it too, I will have find a place where Grandpa can't disturb us.

I look at him with my mouth open.

Heri: Okay, you win!

He chuckled when I said that, his eye never off the road.

Galen: But I was not joking, I really mean it.

I look at him blushing a little and that is when we reach my company, and I went out happy to be out of the flushed situation.

Heri: Thank you for the ride.

I didn't even wait for him to get down in saying that.

He also just smile at me from his seat

Galen: Then I will come and get you later in the evening.

I nod happy with the news and with a wave finally went in.

Heri: And by the way, I will aslo love to spend time with you, alone!

With that I ran away but not without seeing him grin in happiness while ruffling his super soft looking black hair.

Present.

I was deep in though standing in front of the company when I car horn pull me out if my thought and when I look up it was Galen waiting for me.

With a small smile I went and get into the car but not before noticing he really is handsome and the evening setting sun did do him quite a justice. Just he look far more handsome and charming during that time with his black hair shining. Although it is quite a shame that his beautiful red eye is shaded by his shades, but then again he look too cool and handsome with that dark shade for me to complain about it.
