42.Stir away

Axel's Point of View.

I can see that everyone get the idea that it is indeed an am and not pm without any specification.

Tilbe: Well I said I will come, and I did. What's so weird about that?

Karina: Well since you give me the note to meet you so secretly, I thought this spies of yours won't be present. If all of them are going to be here anyway, why did you even try to hide it?

So she knows we were there, when we meet before. That means she can sense our presence or maybe our ability. Cause everyone here have some ability.

And she might know of Heri and Galen since they were not even hidden properly but mine was different. She can never know I was there physically with the way I was situated. Cause I was not hidden. If anyone saw me, they will think Iam just working next room and nor spying.

Tilbe: Have you never heard of being found out?

She grit her words out and I can already imagine the pointed expression she will be sporting.

Heri: Nice to meet you Karina, Iam Heri and this is Galen. Since you know we were there anyway, Iam hoping you won't mind us tagging again.

She really is quite straight forward with whatever she says.

Karina: What to do then, I was kind of hoping that I can get the fruit basket to myself.

Hmm, this is interesting.

Tilbe: Which can be arranged but they have to be here and Ax have to come with me.

Karina: Ax?

Tilbe: Him, and you are not allowed to ask anything else about him more than that.

Well doesn't she make everything a lot more suspicious by saying that.

Heri: Be careful and let me know if anything happen, anything at all.

Tilbe: Alright sis Ri, thank you for being here.

Heri: All my pleasure.

The smile I could not see are but not missed. The happy emotions from both of them are felt immensely.

But with that we went away like Tilbe had wished. And I have about some vague idea as to why she want to went away.

We stand by the cliff side if Iam not wrong. For a bit there was silence then Karina speak up.

Karina: I wonder why you chose to speak with me privately? You don't trust them? You seems to be quite eager to keep this meeting a secret.

Tilbe: Why would I not trust my people, it's just that I chose to respect your privacy instead.

Tilbe: You see, there is a custom in Iklu, that no one but the royal can know someone's ability and no one else unless he or she share voluntarily.

I knew it, I was suspecting this all along. If not she is not someone who keep away things from others, mainly not Heri. She shares everything with her and also take her advices on everything.

Which is a blessing for her cause Heri is an intellegent and a very smart women, she is best at what she does. And most importantly she is loyal and is always kind, so she will always give a helping hand whenever it is needed.

Karina: And you want to know what is mine.

It was not a question rather just a confirmation.

Tilbe: For me to trust you with everyone's safety, I have to know. And you telling me is the only way I can truly find out, at the moment at least.

I say the last part is not needed, and that is why we say Tilbe can be a bit naive when she chose to be.

Karina: The fact that you ask me first is enough, and Iam fine with letting you know about my abilities. But you let others wait away, so why is he here?

Tilbe: He is my brother, so.

Pfft, I can already tell she is nervous when ask about me. It is true that Iam her brother and I can be here. But it is also true that I have other thing for which Iam here for.

That is to check whether she is telling the truth or not.

Karina: Well my family has the ability to take someone else abilities. Like I did with the other guy you were with, I take away his healing ability so he become ill and frail. I can also do it with normal people, like I can take away their life or pain or intelligence or whatever it is.

But with normal people when I take away their life I can just keep it, but with you guys I can keep it only temporarily and not more than that.

Axel: Then can you use the stolen abilities yourself when you have it.

Karina: Ummm.. I don't like calling it stolen but yes we do can use it but not to its full extend. And aslo I can't use it yet, in my family my parents can, so with practice I can do it as well.

Tilbe: Suppressing and all huh?

Karina: Sorry?

I chuckled when I herd what Tilbe said while she sigh to herself. Her and her thoughts at wrong timing.

Tilbe: Then let me ask a question, if you can use your ability to everyone, why didn't you do it with me that day?

Hey, at least she want to be right at one thing.

Karina: You have too much energy in you, I can't effort to take it. My body might expire if I did try. So, Iam quite curious of how you are alive.

My heart stop it's beat for a while hearing her say that. I know, Tilbe's energy is quite fatal to her physical but when someone put it like that, it never fail to scare me.

Tilbe: Hey Ax, at least Iam right in something.

I chuckle while patting her head like I usually do.

Karina: You two are really one sight to see.

Tilbe: We are quite pretty right?

I can almost see the grin Tilbe will have even when I can't see.

Karina: You don't say!!

Tilbe giggle softly at that, but then stops and went back to the conversation.

Tilbe: I hope Iam right in thinking that you won't hurt my people like the first time.

It's surprising that she is letting go of it just like that when it was Vann that she hurt.

Karina: I want to apologise for that one, but never got the chance. Iam sorry and please know that, that will be the last time.

She is speaking the truth and is really being sincere.

Tilbe: Letting you guys stay means you getting apart from your world, your parent and anything outside Iklu. You have to keep Iklu as the deepest secret. Will you be able to do that?

Iklu follow a strict rule of going outside and inside the kingdom. Although it become quite simple as everyone cooperated peacefully and the secret remains. But with an outsider, it will become much more serious and much strict than it is.

Karina: For my sister I can.

There is a waver in her sincerity this time, but that confusion can be clearly heard in her voice as well. It was too open to call it a lie.

Tilbe: Don't let me down, I can be quite mean when I want to be.

Hah!, how many times have I told her, that a threat is not said in such manners.

Karina: Iam sure.

Axel: What about the others, where are they?

Karina: They are here, I left them be, cause I saw many of you when I expect only Tilbe.

I nod my head in understanding while also waiting for her to speak up of what she will do now.

Karina: Let them meet you guys, but even this time will they meet you secretly or with others?

Tilbe: The people there are my most trustworthy person. I just didn't share your ability with them cause I want to be fair to you, so with others all of them will know everything as well.

Karina: Okay then, let me get them.

And I heard her walking away while I can feel little gift intent stare on me.

Axel: What?

Tilbe: I think I got a great plan, you just wait for it.

I remain silent although I feel scared just thinking about what her plans are.

Axel: Little gift, whatever you guys have to discuss. You guys go on, and me I will seat here for a while. Come when you are done.

I heard her sigh when I said that.

Tilbe: Okay, I will make it quick so enjoy the breeze and the warm sunlight while you are at it alright.

I nod my head with a smile while she run away, going to where Heri and Galen are.

I breath in softly and then seat down by the flower bed and just raised my head a little and does exactly what Tilbe told me to do. Enjoy the happy fragrance of the flowers and the subtle warm of the rising sun.

I sit like that for about a while . But about some good ten minute in, I feel a presence.

Axel: I was hoping I will be left alone.

I said it quite coldly hoping whoever it is for them to go away listening to my rudeness.

Heri: Sorry, but I can't seem to agree with that.

I sigh at the familiar voice, Heri.

Axel: You want something?

She sit down beside me while I try my best to just stay stiff and feel nothing.

Heri: Vann said if I meet you, to tell you that he is sorry for breaking his promise but that next time, he will make sure to keep it.

I chuckle when she said that, it was not like I hold that against him or anything like that.

Heri: He really want me to say that to you, so I couldn't just ignore it. Sorry for disturbing you.

Her words feels so warm and cosy that it make me want to snuggle at it. It's not the words she said but all the sincerity and the care she said it with. It stir up my heart in ways I never hope for.

Axel: It's not a big deal, Iam also sorry for the way I react. And please tell Vann that he have never broken the promise.

She stand up as I said that, weirdly making me want to stop her from moving.

Heri: Forgiven. And I'll make sure to rely the message which I can't seems to understand.

Before I stop myself I said the first thing that come to my mind.

Axel: You have a very beautiful voice.

When I said that she seems to smile with the small chuckle I hear.

Heri: My face is much more beautiful than my voice, so please tell me if you need any kind of help anytime so that you can see freely.

And with that she walk away while I was left with the warm remnants of her words. My heart stir once more while I tried my best to swallow the feeling rising in my stomach.

I remind myself no emotion.

At least for herself, no emotion.

For the people I want to get close to, no emotion.
