Chapter Thirteen
The next morning when Joe got into his car there was a sticker attached to the centre of the steering wheel. It read ‘Glove box’.
Joe felt his heartbeat accelerate slightly and he smiled broadly. This could only mean one thing. He reached over and popped the cubby hole open. Sure enough, inside was an envelope with his name on it.
He hastily started the car and sped off to work, rather than run the risk of his in-laws finding him on the driveway. When he arrived, he sat in the car park for a moment savouring the expectation. He finally tore open the envelope and read the details. “Yes!” he exclaimed, seeing that Caroline had planned their next date for that very night.
