9: The Black Hole In The Middle Of The Air

1438 Words
It's been days since I last chatted with Danoh.  I've tried to find a way to talk to her again, but the damn Writer kept giving me stages with Namju, Juda, and Dohwa. Like, right after Juda's accident with the art supplies and falling on top of Namju, a stage started in A3's hangout with my dear cousin, who started to plot his so-called revenge. Stage me had to help him out with ideas and how to initiate his evil plans towards poor Juda.  Then there's another stage where Saemi had bullied Juda behind the school building.  No one was around, but me. So, stage me did her best to help Juda out by telling Saemi how Namju would react after finding out that Saemi is now a bully. I knew right then that Saemi has had a huge crush on my cousin, so after giving her a warning, she ran off with the other girls. Juda thanked me then and apologized for being so weak.  The stage had ended right after that and before another one could start, I quickly told Juda that she isn't weak and that she's someone who is mentally strong, especially since her grandmother is confined in the hospital. With that, Juda knew then that she could trust me. Then lastly, the stage between me and Dohwa started.  Stage me enjoyed her friendly date with her best friend in the library. The whole time we read manhwas and said our opinions about the lead characters and so forth. It was sweet and cute as it lasted for only what felt like 10 minutes since the Writer skipped many parts of the friendly date. Right after our stage ended, I couldn't help but feel like my feelings for Dohwa are just... the stage me's feelings and not really mine.  Honestly, I love having Dohwa by my side since he's my best friend and takes good care of me, but I don't see him as someone who I can be with romantically. After those stages, I couldn't find Eun Danoh anywhere in the Shadow. It was like the Writer knew what I was doing. Since I couldn't find Danoh, I decided to hang out with Jinmichae in the kitchen and help him with anything. It's the third day since I've been self-aware and here I am in the kitchen instead of studying in my classroom. Jinmichae and I are busy making something with a box and empty yogurt drink bottles. It was Jinmichae's idea to make a small version of the Stage and Shadow. "This is really convenient," I spoke up after gluing the makeshift tree in the Stage, aka the box that is now filled with small designs to make it look like Seulli High School. I heard Jinmichae chuckle across from me. I looked over at him and saw him finishing up his own mini version of himself. The tiny Jinmichae looked cute, especially with the yellow hair that came from some of the old, yellow yarn - it was from the box of art supplies that Juda had "ruined" three days ago. "Well, if anyone starts to become aware of themselves, then we can use this for explanations," Jimmichae replies back as he shows me his yogurt drink doll. I smiled at it and teased, "I wonder why the Writer didn't make you the Art teacher instead?" Then the blondie laughs and jokes, "I'm terrible at teaching."  He hands me the doll and I took it carefully.  I placed it in the middle of the Stage and then I heard Jinmichae say, "Get ready, Ara." "Huh? Get ready for what?" I asked in confusion.  "There's a new stage starting." 사작! "Ms. Oh, who is Helen of Troy?"  I mentally sighed after realizing that I'm in my classroom. Stage me then stood up and answered the teacher's question easily. Then she sat back down after the teacher praised her. Stage me sat back down and class continued until I heard it again. 사작! The stage ended. The damn stage ended. "That was all the Writer made me go through?" I muttered under my breath as I looked at the time on my phone's screen. "Great! The class won't end for another 40 minutes." I love literature and all, but I was having more fun in the kitchen with Jinmichae.  I slumped down in my seat and waited for the class to end. 40 minutes later, the class ended and lunch started. I was just about to leave the classroom with Namju and Kyung, but then I heard Danoh shouting my name inside the classroom. "YAH! OH ARA!" The short girl with bangs called out. I saw her running to my side in an instant.  "We need to talk, remember?" She tells me, making me sigh in relief. Then she adds, "Do you know that I've been looking for you everywhere?"  I softly laughed at what she told me.  Then I said, "No, but I guess you've been looking for me for the last three days. I couldn't find you, either." "Ara, are you going to eat or what?" Namju asked, making me face him.  I had almost forgotten about him. Oops!  I saw my cousin and Kyung looking at me, waiting for my answer.  Then I shook my head and smiled at the two. "I'll be eating lunch with Danoh today." Kyung stared at Danoh and me with a confused look.  "Since when did you two get close?" He asked, sounding a little annoyed. "Yah! Baek Kyung! Mind your own business and go away!" Danoh exclaimed, surprising everyone in the classroom, especially me. Danoh looked at me with a smile after the two boys left.  "By the way, Ara, where were you these past few days?" She asked with a worried tone. I chuckled at her question, remembering how these past few days were very busy for me.  "I've been busy helping Namju out, saving Juda from being bullied by half of the girls in Seulli, and spending some time with Dohwa." Danoh nods her head, believing me right away.  Then she tells me as she grabs my right arm, "Well, we should take this chance to finally talk!"  And then without telling me in advance, she starts to pull me outside of the classroom. Damn, she's strong for someone who has a weak heart. Danoh and I are now standing on the bridge that connects Building A and Building B together. It was a nice day to stay outside. It wasn't too windy or sunny. It's one of those normal days that Writer drew once again. "So, will you tell me what is wrong with me? Why can't I remember things? Or, like how can I hear stuff that Saemi and Soochul can't hear?" I looked away from the same shaped clouds and faced the short-haired girl.  "If I tell you, I doubt that you'll believe me," I exclaimed as I rubbed my right arm that Danoh held onto earlier. Danoh groaned in absolute irritation. "Just tell me, Ara!" Then I smirked and shrugged.  "Alright. Fine," I spoke up. "I'll tell you the truth-" "Wait! What is that?!" Danoh cuts in while pointing at something from a distance. "What is what, Danoh?" I asked as I looked at what she was pointing.  My eyes then went wide when I saw a black hole up in the middle of the air. Then I looked around us to see if anyone saw the black hole, but everyone on the bridge seemed like they didn't see it. I looked down and saw Jinmichae staring at it as well. "Hey, Ara! Do you see him?" Danoh asked, now pointing at Jinmichae.  I was going to answer her, but two boys who were running down the bridge bumped into me and Danoh. I looked over at Danoh to see if she was okay, but she didn't look affected at all. Then I looked back down the bridge and saw that Jinmichae had left. Then Danoh spoke up, "I think that blonde guy knows with what is happening to me!"  And once again, she grabs my right arm and starts to drag me back inside the school to wherever Jinmichae could be at.
