2. First Day

"Can I just tag along with you?" I asked after trying not to get inside the black limousine that Namju's mother got for me. Namju laughs out loud as he gets on his motorbike. "Sorry, cuz, but I promised to take good care of you," he exclaims while putting on his black helmet. "Pfft! And?" "And having you ride on my motorbike goes against my promise." I groaned in irritation and said, "But riding in this black limousine is just... too much!" Namju looks at me with the helmet on his head and suggests, "How about I talk to mother about your ride going to school later?" "Will you, please?" I begged with my hands stuck together, making it look like I'm praying. I can tell that Namju is smiling behind his helmet. "I will. Don't worry. Now, get inside the limo, Ara. You wouldn't like to be late on your first day." "Just only for today, Namju," I said, hating the idea that I'm riding such a luxurious ride on my first day to my new school. "Miss Ara, we're here," Driver Kang calls out, pulling me out of my thoughts. I opened my eyes and looked at him and then outside the window beside me. "Holy mother of..." As Driver Kang gets ready to park the limousine outside the gates of the school, I got a good view of Seulli High School and could not believe that my cousin studies here. Oh, wait, scratch that out... I could not believe that I'll be studying here. "Miss Ara, would you like me to come and pick you up after school?" Driver Kang asked after parking the limousine. "Um... No, thanks, Driver Kang," I spoke up as I tried to take my eyes off of the school. "I'll try to get a ride with Namju." "Okay, Miss Ara... Good luck with Young Master, and have fun in school, Miss." I smiled at the middle-aged man and replied back, "Thank you, Driver Kang! That means a lot to me." "You're very welcome, Miss Ara." I opened the door to my right and got out. I closed it without any effort since it was automatic- didn't know about that before, and stood in front of Seulli High School's gates in awe. "I really am studying here..." I whispered under my breath as I started to walk inside the campus. The students who were still hanging outside have stopped talking to themselves and are now focused on me. My heart then starts to beat due to being nervous and a tad bit shy. I'm not sure if it's my first time to be getting these kinds of attention, but just walking down the path with rich, high school students on both sides staring at you while whispering things that I can't hear, just makes me feel uneasy. Am I really that popular? Did Namju already tell everyone about me? "Yah! Watch where you're going!" A guy's voice hisses in annoyance. Oh s**t! Did I just bump into someone?? I took a step back from whoever I collided into and looked at the person in embarrassment. I suddenly felt the need to run away... I just bumped into one of Namju's friends. "Baek Kyung," I whispered to myself as I read his name tag and bowed to my apology. "That's definitely one of my cousin's friends... and f**k, why is he staring at me so coldly?" I stood back up and noticed how he looked... lonely. Then I quietly thought, "Wait... Ara, why would he look lonely? Isn't he a part of Namju's popularity squad called, A3?" "What are you staring at?" Baek Kyung exclaims with that sharp tongue of his, bringing me back to reality. I mentally sighed and wondered why Namju befriended this cold hearted dude. "Sorry, I-" I was cut off by the tall guy when he called out someone out of nowhere.  "Eun Danoh," Baek Kyung calls out in a tone that I was surprised to hear. "Why didn't you answer my calls?" I didn't bother to see who this guy's girlfriend is, so I took this chance to run away. After running away for 30 seconds, I found myself standing by the soccer field. I saw a group of male students, who I think are 2nd Years, having a fun time playing soccer. I was so engrossed in watching the game that I didn't notice a girl standing a few feet away from me. Then suddenly the soccer ball flew all the way to where the girl and I were standing. Although, it actually reached her and she caught it with her right foot.  After staying in the hospital for my recovery, I've been watching drama series and sports channels up until the day I was released. I remember making Namju wait for me on my last day since I wanted to finish this one episode of Hotel Del Luna, and guess what? I got him to watch the whole drama series with me yesterday. But aside from watching those drama series, I also got hooked on watching the tennis competitions and soccer games, thanks to Namju's sport-addiction.  Was I a big fan of sports before the accident? "Oh! Hey, Eun Danoh!" One of the male students called out from the soccer field. "That name again?" I muttered under my breath as I turned to face the girl.  The girl stands with an aura that says, 'I'm popular and good-looking. What do you want from me? ' But to be honest, she looks pretty. She has short, black hair with bangs. She's a little bit shorter than me but has the ideal height that most boys want for their ideal girlfriends. She's the type that can get whatever she wants. I'm not against her at all, but why does she keep popping out of nowhere?
