The Presentation

Roxara’s POV

    I had run away from my Alpha…my mate?! He will never accept me... He didn’t even say anything to me he just looked angry. Why didn’t he just reject me then and there? Was he waiting until we were in front of others to humiliate me? Or or –

    ‘NO, no or’s you’re not a canoe he’s mate he has to love us! He was worried about how to handle our beauty’. Hehe, my Wolf Rocks always knows how to make me feel better!

    …I know he could never accept me. Subconsciously I prepare myself for rejection. I saw what it did to my mom, I need to protect myself.

    Besides... My own father didn’t want me why would anyone else? Lost in my thoughts I go about my day cleaning and preparing the meals. Everyone is bustling with excitement for tomorrow. Throughout the day I took Zane’s meals to his room, but he didn’t answer the door. He would just tell me to leave it at the door…I wish he would just get the rejection over with my Wolf is restless wanting to be near him.

    Suddenly, I am mind linked ‘Roxy Poxy come to your room girly! Your present is ready!’. Of course, it’s Danny; always with the surprises. I don’t know how many more I can take today! I walk to my room it was already quite late.

    I walk in to find my mother and Danny standing next to the bed. On it, lay a beautiful black dress it was short with the sides of the abdomen cut out and one long sleeved. The fabric had sparkled weaved into it; it is stunning! If a little risqué for my style. I look to them in surprise... I am not allowed to have such nice things! I tear up and exclaim “What? How? You know I can’t wear that! Merrick will be so mad!”

    “Girl I got permission! Your mother helped pay for it, but I went out for it today! Merrick gave permission for you to wear a new dress for the blood moon dance tomorrow because everyone should look their best! He said to also consider it a birthday present!”

    “I- HE- BUT"

    “No buts, Merrick always had a soft spot for his mate, and she has always had a soft spot for you. So, when I say Merrick I really mean, Mary”

    It’s true that our Luna has always been kind to me; never hurt or yelled at me. She often kept her husband from treating me worst. I respected her greatly for the compassion she shows to everyone no matter what!

    “Baby girl, I hope you like it... I know I am not always there for you like I should be, but I do love you... I just want you to know that. Now come here I see the pack had its paws on you again I’ll patch you up for tomorrow” My mother did exactly that.  She was always good at healing my wounds. Though it helped that my Were-blood speeds up the natural healing process.

    Us three watch some Disney movies we had on DVD. I fell asleep on my mom's bed, like I used too when I was a kid. Not before I grabbed Wolfy my baby blanket; I can't sleep without him!

    I awoke early to make sure everything was ready for the festivities that are to begin after breakfast. First there was the stage to be made up for the presentation at noon. Which was a long boring ceremony that lasted 2 hours. It resembles that of a royals first presentation because to us, it is! The Alpha’s word is law and though one can break it, it’s not without consequence.

    Every time a new Blood Moon pack Alpha was presented, it was on the nearest blood moon for obvious reasons. The pack would dance throughout the night. All the young bloods would stay out till past midnight to dance and party. Most of the children or elderly would go to bed early.

    I prepared breakfast and because of the day no one paid me any mind; thank Goddess! I got the ceremony ready with the help of some young male pack members. They didn’t hurt me, but most bumped me or glared my way. I’m used to it, but I can’t say it ever makes me feel good. I always feel as if I am less than a person, even though I'm not!

    The ceremony started and Rocks was going wild! ‘MATE he’s coming! Go to mate!’.

    I held myself together ‘It’s not the time, nor place for this Rocks now settle down the ceremony is beginning'.

    We all stood at attention as Zane appeared to walk down the aisle onto the stage. We locked eyes for a moment, and he continued down. He got up on stage and Goddess he was handsome! I finally got to get a good look at him. He had thick messy brown hair; his eyes were a piercing yellow a trademark of the Alphas of the pack! He stood tall at a whopping 6’5” with broad shoulders and man you could see all the muscles through his suit!

    I was starring heavily at him... Though, then again, so was every unmated female around. It infuriated me! I once again locked eyes with him even though I was at the back of the pack he found me immediately. He seldomly broke the eye contact. I want to charge the stage to be near him so badly but knew I couldn’t.

    It was the end of the ceremony and he thanked everyone “Thank you, I will try to be the Alpha this pack deserves … and a special announcement for the dance tonight”. Everyone started to whisper and even Merrick looked confused. “For my Blood Moon dance, I would like to make it a masquerade for some added fun!” Everyone cheered excited to get ready! Merrick ended the ceremony and pulled Zane aside he seemed to be confused by his announcement and they talked away from the crowd.

    I left the ceremony continuing my day, made dinner and after it was time for the dance! I ran to my room after some impressive speed cleaning. Danny came over to help me get ready. I am so excited to join a dance like this and no one will know it’s me! I can just be a normal member of the pack!
