Chapter 10

Two whole days passed like nothing. The said training were to start this Monday so they arranged a complete real tour for me to have an idea of what am I dealing with once everything started. They also gave me a crash lessons over the history and everything of Aquariah, the school, and the possible sources of magic. In between those two days, I also got my identification card. Maybe just in case someone got lost, or died. I also laced it up and used the key of my room as a key chain for me to not loose both. And now, Monday came. Means that the days of fun and entertainment are gone. Training could either mean fun, or freaking t*****e. “Did anyone in this group improved their ways of using their abilities?” The maestro asked. The same one that greeted me when I first arrived, Mr Varg. “Is there is, please take the stage and show us.” He’d said again and returned to our side, leaving the center place vacant for whoever will take it. “And you are Mika, am I right?” He asked the moment he reached us. He looked at me and asked that same question twice in a row. “Yes sir,” “Have you any idea what type of elements you have?” “No po. I am still trying to find out whether or not I have them.” I answered back. “Is that so?” He once again breathed. “Do you, at least, know about Hailir and their uses?” “Yes sir, those five oriented me the past two days. I think I have an idea.” “Good.” “I though her well, Maestro. I am sure she knows more than what is standard at this point.” Wade spoke with pride. Now really? I turned to look at him and raise an eyebrow, but I saw from the side of my eye that kind of a glare Zyrhine is trowing at him which made me smile. “What? Why are you looking at me like that?” He asked, I shrugged it off turned to our instructor. Zyrhine attacked. Being a wind elemental mage that she is, she managed to create a huge barrier-like type of block and made it fall heavily on Wade’s head. I heard groans and curses, and laughter at the other side. Maestro was laughing with them. Hmm, at least they have a bond. “Can you define what magic here is, Mika?” Maesto asked, turning his head to look at me whilst as he ask that question. They did not inform me about a quiz! “Uhm…” I hummed, trying to recall everything that I know. Pretty sure I know much! Where are they now that I need them! Come on brain, work! “Well…” I spoke again. I took a deep breath in before opening my mouth again. “Hailir and Nacia.” Why is it even called that? “Hailir is the magic that came and was form of light, or good. Nacia, on the other hand, is the type of magic that is either made ou of anger, desperation, of bad- or of darkness.” I tried explaining. Then there was a crash. “ZYRHINE! YOU FREAKING b***h!” Wade shouted, holding a hard metal sword in his hand and gave chase to the girl. He has a whole lot of gunk in his face, seeming from the ground and purposely thrown at him. Huh, wind would be that powerful… “Ha! That’s what you get, asshole!” Zyrhine replied, and then flee. Not really flee, just floated of the air with her wings- wings?- flapping and bring thuds of wind along Wade’s way. And he was brimming mad. That is objective as it could be seen how he is trembling of anger. “I still don’t think I understand much of the magic types here in Agewertia, but I think I understand what they have.” I continued speaking, not turning my head back to the Master. “There are different types under both Hailir and Nacia, yet the most known are these, the elemental ones. One of fire, earth, water, and air. Of course, there is also other ones such as space and time, and other ones under shapeshifting, witchcraft and wizardry.” The ones I’ve mentioned are actually the most common ones. They could be seen and used from all over Agewertia. Most know, yet space, time, light, darkness manipulation is rare, too rare people actually forget they even exists at all. But they do, and fallen to wrong hands, this world would have been more problematic as it is. “Some other types, such as gravity, speed, flight and the likes will either fall under one of those categories… or a mix of both. Although rare, it is still possible.” “Hmm. I guess they indeed thought you well. May I ask you another question?” “Yes sir.” “Do you think dark magic is bad and should be band entirely?” He asked. One too random, yet I guess I should have expected that. “TAKE THIS YOU PIECE OF s**t!” Zyrhine shouted with a laugh and another block of wind carrying dried leaves were thrown of Wade’s face again. “AHH!” He shouted, and somehow manipulated some water out of the water bottles they have and randomly throw it at Zyrhine who did not saw it coming. And her wings, despite how strong they are, still hated water a they soak it up too much that it makes them too heavy to flop. “HA! See that? I can do that!” Wade once again shouted, yet somehow prepared to catch the falling lady. Who, in that matter, isn’t even shouting out of frustration, just shivering. Ice, Wade used Ice cold water in that attack. “No, sir.” I answered after I found the right words to say. “I don’t think dark magic is bad and must be band entirely. I think any magic could be bad if not managed properly. Darkness could be something to fear, but most of the time, fear is good. The one that makes it bad is how the handler handles it. If it is intended to be used in not so good deeds, then it must be stopped. But if the same magic is used to save a country or a kingdom, would you ban and imprison your savior?” I asked, this time turning my head to look directly at his eyes. He is looking at me, us, fascinated. I am sure he heard that answer before. I am sure I wasn’t the only one with that opinion. Because if I indeed am, then what did this world became of? “Heavens you!” Wade had shouted the moment he caught the Lady in his arms. “Why are you this heavy?!” He exclaimed, still trying his best to balance himself. “You wet me up, you motherfucker!” Zyrhine answered in so much anger heard from her voice. “Wings became heavy with that amount of water in it.” “Why?” “Oh, I don’t know! Ask the creator!” Zyrhine answered him again, all too sarcastic, though. They are fun to watch. The other group almost doesn’t care. They where just there, training themselves up, not caring of whatever the heck where the others where doing. Because why would they? It seems like normal for this two. “Do you want to learn real magic then, Lady Mika?” He asked after a few minutes of full silence between us. “Yes sir, I would love too. But as I’ve said earlier, I don’t think I have any attributes of magic in my blood stream. I am just a normal girl.” Well, normal at least in Earthly standards. I just don’t know here. “Then, how can we get you started?” He asked again, looking at somewhere else. At Wade and Zyrhine, perhaps. “You’re really heavy, Zy. I think you need to regulate your die-” “f**k you, Wade.” Zyrhine spoke with intensity. “Put me down if you’ll only complain!” “I wound not complain then. Would that mean you’ll allow me to hold you?” Wade stated in a flirtatious manner. Huh… “PUT ME DOWN- AH!” She shouted, and Wade indeed let go. Not softly, abruptly. That she fell on the ground with a thud, and thus the surprised shout. “YOU-!” “You asked to be put down!” Wade spoke in defense, both hands held up. He is grinning, seemingly enjoying this. Their way of showing love is quite… enticing. “I don’t know, sir. I honestly don’t even have any idea why I an in this school right now and here.” I answered as honestly as I can. If he is the master of this project, I think he already know what’s going on here. “How about weapons? Do you know how to handle some?” He asked again, maybe trying to figure things out himself. But what am I suppose to say? Should I lie? Of course not. “No, sire.” I answered. “I- I don’t think I can even lift a sword that fits your standards. I’ve heard they are heavy. And guns ain’t my type, all too noisy.” “Martial arts, do you do that?” “Specially that, sire. I would love to learn it, as much as I could as it entice me. Wasn’t it fascinating as always? But I haven’t have the money, nor the time, not the courage to start and do it.” “Then we’ll start with that. And weaponry. If we could not wake any energy from within you, then we’ll force your body to obey at least in this.” He said, sighing. “Or if not, you’ll be at disadvantage the moment the competition begins.” He explained. I already know that, but knowing my own life is in that same danger… is not so good. “Is that alright with you?” “Yes, sir.”
