Finn hadn't heard his door fling open due to how focused his mind was on the test results. He had read the result over and over again hoping he had seen right. The shaving cream hadn't been wiped off his chin yet. It was quite obvious he got distracted by the envelope and couldn't go on to resume his shaving.
"Finn, i can explain" Helen said with a defensive tone as she observed his expression. He might be angry with her, for getting to receive the news like this. She ought to have told him personally herself and not try to hide the result from him. This statement she made broke him out of the shock he was in. He gazed up finally aware of her presence and gave her a questioning stare. He still hadn't believed what he had just read in the results despite reading it three times in a row. T
