Maria turned her face to the screen of the television. Not that the ongoing show interested her but for the fact that Bernard’s words irritated her gut.
“As I had said earlier Miss Reed, Amber owes me an enormous apology.”
The older woman turned to face the man with a sneer on her wrinkled face. She had always hated Bernard’s garrulous nature. And now, even after Amber had clearly cut ties with him, the fool wasn’t bulging a bit.
This was the third time in the month that he was showing up at her house to lament about everything Amber her daughter had done.
First, was orchestrating how he was demoted, then the abortion. And now he kept blabbing about wanting respect from Amber.
