Chapter 30

Raven's POV "That assembly earlier was shocking. I thought my jaw would fall off when I saw her rip her skin." Sucrose said while lifting some weights. We're at the SNC Room already. After the assembly earlier, we only had a period of self-study before they dismissed us. Adelaide and I had dinner in advance before she brought me to The Oeuvre's building, took my stuff and left me. "I thought your jaw would fall off because of her beauty." Lemon scoffed. Sucrose put down the dumbbells and yelled. "Hey! Did you really think I would be easily swayed by those kind of charm‽" "Yes!" Everyone answered. Sucrose only grimaced and returned from lifting weights. I laughed at their unified answers. Their impression of him must have been that entertaining. "I was also awed by her beauty. She had the same built with my cousin and a little similarity in the voice. No wonder I was also fooled by her." I said dejectedly. Night sat down beside me. "Right. We forgot that you're the Headmistress' cousin." Sucrose threw the dumbbells away and also sat down on the other side of me. "Would you please give us a clue or something that would let us secure the prize money?" I was about to answer him that I have no idea on what to do, when Sucrose suddenly flew away. "Stay away from her, diabetes. No one in the Investigatory Team is allowed to participate in the individual competition. We'll only focus on the Olympiad and that's an order." Blyneia said, foot in the air. She kicked him very hard on his back. "Why did you have to kick me‽" Sucrose lamented while sprawled on the floor. "You're blocking the way." Blyneia said blandly before sitting on Sucrose's place beside me. "And besides, there's no need for you to chase the scholarship for CRA. You're rich enough to get in without a hitch." "I'm not after the scholarship." Sucrose scorned. "What I'm after is the money. Lemon's not the only penniless person here." "I'm not penniless, you brat. Unlike you spending your money on games and action figures, I'm broke because I used my money for my needs, not wants." Lemon hissed. "Needs? Like what, liquor? Bah! What an alcoholic hag." Sucrose taunted before running away. "Come back here you insolent prick!" Lemon angrily yelled while picking up the dumbbell he used earlier. Before Lemon could throw the dumbbell at Sucrose, Woshi called out to Miss Svetlana who was doing some paperwork in her office here. "Miss Svetlana! They're at it again!" The two ran away from the vicinity of Miss Svetlana's office but they were too late. They already froze in place making everyone laughed even harder. "Actually, we're not worried about the admission in CRA, since the Headmistress already gave us that privilege when she created this team." Night said. How nice it is to be a part of the Investigatory Team. There were so many benefits that one would really pledge allegiance just to obtain those. "The quality of the mask was very exquisite. I couldn't find any fault." Hagure mumbled when he passed by behind us. He was holding a tablet and was very focused on tapping on it. "Let him be. He's always like that when it comes to stuff about disguising." Night told me when she noticed my lingering look towards Hagure. "He's been mastering the art of disguise lately and you'll just annoy him if you try to break his focus." Throughout the session, I was just in the anti-gravity simulator, floating around while thinking of how to find the real Miss Harlequin. In a school with an estimated count of 20,000 students, how can I find a single person who's adept in disguising herself? I doubt she would use an ordinary wig and a contact lense, just like what she always does when she goes out in the public. Having this kind of prize money on the line, she would definitely go all out. However, when they told me that the Investigatory Team won't join, I was kinda relieved at the same time bummed out on such opportunity lost. Milcah sighed. "Because of this game, every student in SEIA would doubt everyone's identity." My body went cold. "You won't suspect me, will you? It's impossible for me to be the Headmistress. We don't have the same body built. She's tall with her heels and I even struggle wearing the 3-inch one. She's like a freaking deity, while I'm just some garbage who didn't receive any of their genes." "You sounded so defensive. The more you explained, the more I will likely to suspect you." Milcah giggled. "But don't worry. Fortunately, the Investigatory Team won't be a part of the game and I already knew you're not her. You two have different auras, somewhat. And auras couldn't be faked, unless if she also possessed an ability that would fake what I see." "Thank you, Milcah." I gave her a smile before sighing deeply. "My only problem now is my classmates. They would definitely suspect me since I'm a transferee." I told her. I've been thinking about this situation and various worst-case scenario. "You're not the only transferee." Lolirei said. "But she's the one closest to the Headmistress. They'll suspect her." Ash countered. "If she's really the Headmistress, then it would be so easy. But she's not, and still she will be involved in the chaos." Frankie also voiced out. "Everyone's involved in the chaos, Frankie. It's just a matter of time that this will be out of control if the administration wouldn't take precautionary measures and extensive control of the situation." Aki explained. "Why is the Investigatory Team excluded from the individual competition?" I asked them. If the reason was related to their abilities then I would really understand it. It was Hagure who answered me. I was surprised though since he was just busy earlier and didn't thought he would butt in to our conversation. "The Investigatory Team is known for its wide source of intel and connection. Being the best in tracking and investigation, the students would really be pissed off if one of us win the game. Or students might think that we're taking advantage of our position just to gather more clue from the Headmistress directly. Anyway, more or less it's because of our special ability that would make the game unfair " "I get it now. So who decided that we won't join?" I asked. This time, it was Blyneia who answered. "The Headmistress herself. She wants to give chance to the others since we will definitely swept them all away when we join the fun. But she made us look like we were the ones who gave up the individual competition." Hmm, that's why. I looked at Reginald who has been sitting silently this whole time. "What?" He asked when our eyes made contact. "Nothing. I was just wondering if you knew what disguise the Headmistress was wearing." He shrugged and gave me a knowing smile before standing up. "I'll go ahead guys. Still had some task to finish, and some errands to do. Ja ne!" I was just fixing my bag when Miss V arrived. "Miss V? What's up?" Lemon asked. I noticed the documents that she was holding. She gave it to Blyneia and bobbed her head. Blyneia scanned the documents and her eyes suddenly glowed golden. In a monotone voice she declared, "Milcah, The Twins, and Raven. You four will be assigned for this mission. Study this tomorrow, dismiss."
