The Forest of Amber

Present

 "I don't know how I'm going to survive today" Em said to her bestfriend Trixie. Trixie was the polar opposite of Em, she was shorter then Em by a foot and some inches but very slender compared to Em's thicker tummy. Trixie was the blond and Em the brunette which is what made them the perfect friends. 

 "Don't look at me you asked for this. It's karma bitting you in ass for the birthday party you threw for me." Trixie said laughing at Emillia's grumbling. "Besides you know you like the attention of Daryl." Trixie said with a mischievous smile.

 "Shhhhh. He'll hear you."  Em said very embarrassed and quickly looking around. Daryl had been a friend of Em's almost her whole life. He was a very shy and quiet kid but was very smart and cute. He was tall and tan, with black hair and silver eyes. Sadly before Em could make a move, Daryl had started dating another girl by the name of Sarah. 

 "Besides Daryl is dating Sarah still plus shes pretty compared to me." Trixie smacked Ems ass. 

 "Youre beautiful so shut up Em!" Trixie said strongly while she waved at her brother Damien. "Dam!" She said cheerfully as she bounded up to him and gave him a hug. 

"Yo little sis and sis's friend!" Dam said laughing as his sister tried punching him. "Damn it Dam youre supposed to say happy birthday!" Trixie said huffing her chest out and pouting. 

 "Now now little sis calm down. Geez it was a joke. Happy birthday Emillia." Damien said as he hugged Em. 

 "Oh thank you Damien!" Em said happily. Thats when they heard a coughing noise behind them. 

  Emillia turned around blushing when she saw Daryl there. "Oh hey daryl." Em said mumbling it out.

 "Did I hear right its someones birthday huh?"  Daryl said with a raspy voice but the group of friends could see the mischief behind the silver eyes. "Hmmm I wonder whose birthday it is?"  He said as he looked straight at Em making her feel as if he was starring into her soul.

"Oh dont be a tease Dare. Yiu know she cant handle it." Said Trix looking happy to see her friend tryna act normal around the boy shes been pinning for forever. 

"I can too handle him teasing me!" Em said. The group went quiet until Trixie cracked up laughing nearly doubling over. 

"Oh..my..god" Trixie said gasping for breath. "You did not just say that." 

"I didn't mean it like that." Em said blushing horribly. 

Daryl smiled at the cute sight and gave her a pat on the head. "Its okay I know what you meant." He said as he reached into his backpack and pulled out a small box. "Go ahead open it." He said gently while Damien was helping his sister stand up right. 

Emillia's hand shook slight when he touched her palm to place the box in it. She looked up gently into his eyes and saw a flicker of something she couldnt describe. She slowly and carefully opened the package and revealed a beautiful moonstone necklace. The moonstone was small but the icy blue and white crystals in the middle seemed to scream at her. It was smooth to the touch and felt right in her hand. 

"Oh my god Daryl it's beautiful. I love it thank you!" Em said the rush of emotion overwhelmed her. She threw her arms around Daryl. She could feel the sudden heat between them. Darlys arms encased her and she could feel his heart beat quicken. The soft whisper of his breath on her neck made her shiver. "Dare.." she whimpered out  when the sudden shout of a female voice made them both jump.

"Happy birthday Em!" Emillia quickly looked to see that it was in fact Sarah. She looked at Daryl to see that he was already looking at her and that there was disappointment but also something else...hunger she thought but then he blinked at looked towards Sarah with a smile. "Maybe I was just imagining it" Em thought to herself. 

Sarah gave Daryl a quick kiss and hug as she starred at Emillia "Hopefully Daryl already wished you a happy birthday because he has to walk to class with me!" She sajd giggling as she tugged on Daryl "Come on babe we have to go." Em could see the flicker of resentment but he just readjusted his backpack said his quick "happy birthday, see ya" and took of with Sarah. 

"Bye..." Em whispered gently while Trix and Damien stood in silence. At least Em had the best present ever.
