Reality

KAYLEE Casper? Was that Casper?! I slowly got up and spun around, my heart racing. My eyes widened, and I released a gasp when I saw him standing a few metres away from me, his hands stuffed into his pants pockets and his head tilted to the side. “Hey, lil sis, miss me?" He asked in a sweet tone that made my belly twist. I clutched my hands and breathed in, then forced a step forward, my heart racing with each step I took towards him. "Hello,” I mumbled, unsure if it was safe to stand that close to him or to run away as quickly as I could. His lips twitched up as he ran his eyes over my body and unapologetically caused the hairs on my skin to jerk up. He was wearing a red baseball cap over his black, thickly curled hair, and the mole on his face still made my belly knot when I found it at the spot below his right ear. His rugged blue jeans looked dirty around the knees, but I knew that was just the trending fashion style among them, and I was trying to keep my eyes away from the ripped white shirt on him. The top part of the dragon tattoo was quite visible on the neck. He looked exactly his age or perhaps younger than that. 24 years seemed to be impossible to guess with that half-Greek beauty. “Are you okay?" I jerked my head up when his words hit me and crushed those dirty thoughts that were beginning to creep in. I realized from his confused facial expression that I was staring too much. "Is there something on my body?” He asked and tapped his lower waist. Shit!! My throat knotted, and I slammed my eyes shut, pulling out of the temptation he was unknowingly drawing me into. He was my stepbrother, and this was stupid and different from those dreams. This was reality, and I had to face it. “Yes, I'm fine, I… I…” I stuttered and weaved my hand through my hair, forcing a smile while wondering why he was suddenly back to hunt me. Could that be what my mom and her husband were talking about this morning? And even if he was back, what was he doing in my school? He narrowed his eyes at me with suspicion clouding his sharp emerald eyes. “Come on, let's go," he nodded and extended his hand to me. I hesitantly clasped my hand in his and tore a quick, surreptitious glance at the closed trap door before heading out with him. I wasn't surprised when I walked into an empty hallway. I had been in there with them for hours, and this wasn't the first time this had happened. I always reported sick before leaving whenever I knew what they wanted me to do. "We were expecting you to be home when we returned, but you weren't,” Casper spoke, and my steps froze. I snatched my hand away from him when I realized that I was still holding his hand. I spun around and shook my head. I was trying so hard to look strong, even though my body was trembling and breaking down with just how close he stood to me. I couldn't get rid of that choking cologne from him, no matter how much I wanted to. "Because I had classes,” I forced out words and my breath. He tilted his head to the side, his brows narrowing. “Why does it seem like you're lying?" He muttered, and my heart gave a wild leap. I forced a scoff, still maintaining that confused, convincing face. “I am not!" I snapped. His shoulders squared as he slid his hands into his pants pocket, then craned his head back, staring curiously at the long, empty corridor before turning back to face me. I wondered what he was thinking, and whatever it was, I just hoped it wasn't anywhere close to the truth. "Are you alone in here right now?” he asked. My heart paused, my eyes widened, and my blood stopped flowing as shock engulfed me. Why was he asking that kind of question? What does he want to do? “Uhm…” I stuttered when I found my voice and looked over his shoulder. I didn't know if I should say yes or no. What if I said yes and something happened… I looked at that ripped shirt and felt a cold chill run down my spine. My eyes traveled down to the jeans, but instead of stopping at the legs, they stopped at the groin area. I could swear that there was a bulge there… "Hey!” He clicked his fingers over my face, and I jerked my head up, tearing my eyes away from that forbidden area. "I'm sorry, I…I…” “Your friend came over," he cut me off, and my eyes raised. Friend? I had no friends. "Huh?” “What was her name?" He mumbled as he threw his head back. "Deborah?” He said, and my eyes dimmed as the name clicked. I had never spoken to that Deborah girl since she transferred to this high school. “Why was she at my place?” I asked. He seemed to notice the change of tone as he tilted his head. “She said you came home because you were sick," he said. I cursed beneath my breath and gripped my fist. “But you weren't home," he added. That sounded more like a question than a narration. I bit my lips and pinched my fingers. I raised my head and forced that convincing smile on again. “I stayed at the school clinic because I needed to study at the library after school hours," I blurted out a lie. He narrowed his eyes over my body and face, his eyes shouting that he didn't believe a single word that I had said. I clenched my fist tighter, gearing up with more lies if he asked more questions, which he would obviously do. "Okay,” he mumbled and began to shuffle forward. My heart raced with each step he took closer to me. He paused when he got to where I stood and grabbed my hand before I could take a breath. “Let's go," he muttered and leaned forward, his eyes flickering from my flushed face to my cleavage, which was peeking out from the shirt I wore. "Jaden and Jordan are waiting at home…" he paused and let his eyes stray again, and my belly twisted so hard with that gaze that I almost slumped down to the ground. He was standing right before me, his chest almost pressed against mine, his bulge rubbing off on my hip, and that mint breath that constantly haunted my sleep showered on my face without a halt. He was staring right into my eyes the way he always did in my sleep whenever he slammed into me, and his hands were pressed into mine the same way whenever he rolled his hips against mine. My heart was almost splitting into two, and my core tightened so hard that the wetness in my panties was hard to ignore. “We don't want to keep both of them waiting, do we, lil sis?” he whispered in that deep guttural voice that forced those grunts to echo in my head and make me shudder. I needed no one to tell me the reality. My nightmare had awoken, and it was staring right at my face without needing me to shut my eyes and let the dreamcatcher swing over my head. My sweet nightmare… was slowly becoming a reality.
