TEMPERANCE, by Tom MarcinkoCindy Ward has long been publishing fiction with Wildside Press’s magazines and anthologies—so we recruited her to acquire some of her favorite authors and stories for Black Cat Weekly. The six of us, Temperance’s lovers, made it to the cocktail lounge of the Desert Inn just in time to witness the A-bomb test. Temperance had collected one of us for each day of her week. Today was Saturday, so the one we called Saturday was with Temperance, at her place. Despite what we were cooking up, we were jealous of the lucky crumb-bum. I was Monday. My day felt far away.
