"Reporting to Dr. Easton, we must return to base to debrief and cannot remain with you. If you have already read this chapter, please proceed to the novel in the archives." "Read the latest chapter at the secure terminal." Bull Hudson took a few steps forward, gave a very formal military salute, and then said loudly to George Easton. George Easton was taken aback, not expecting Hudson to have such a move. However, George Easton wasn't worried. He looked at Hudson and then at Finn. George Easton was very interested in Finn, but he also admired Hudson's military bearing. He smiled and said, "I don't believe your Vanguard Unit Captain Grant won't give me face. Wait two minutes." After George Easton finished speaking, he asked the federal agent for a cell phone and started making a call. Finn watched all this, completely baffled by what these people were doing. The constant standing at attention was annoying, but Finn did envy Hudson's military uniform; it looked incredibly imposing. Right now, Finn only wanted to become a special forces soldier like Hudson, and he didn't care at all about George Easton's invitation to dinner. A few minutes later, George Easton handed the phone to Hudson. Hudson took the phone and said "Yes, sir, understood, sir" very seriously a few times before hanging up. Hudson approached Finn and said, "Give me the gun, I'll keep it safe for you. High-caliber rifles aren't allowed in the city limits." Hudson could tell that Finn was very interested in the high-precision rifle he had taken from the mercenaries, which was what made Hudson happy. Finn simply liked the rifle; he wasn't so attached to it that he couldn't bear to part with it. After looking at Hudson, Finn confidently handed it over to him. Next, Finn, Hudson, and Luke got into an armored SUV with the old man George Easton. The car drove off quickly, followed by several police escorts. More than an hour later, the car drove into Silver Bridge City, the capital city of the Northwest Region. Finn rarely came to such places. It was afternoon, and the traffic and pedestrian flow were very congested, so the car was moving very slowly. Hudson took out a set of tactical camouflage clothing from his backpack and handed it to Finn, saying, "Put this on. This is for you. This place is not like the jungle, so dress neatly." Finn glanced at Hudson. Luckily, Hudson had given him a camouflage uniform; otherwise, Finn wouldn't have liked it. Finn readily changed into the camouflage uniform in the car. Wearing the olive-drab military uniform, Finn felt a truly different feeling. "Young man, you look quite spirited. How about joining the army?" Hudson patted Finn on the shoulder and said again. Finn's father was Hudson's old comrade-in-arms and former superior, and also a legendary sniper. Hudson believed that Finn would become an excellent marksman like his father, and now Finn's combat skills were very strong, already surpassing Hudson's. Finn thought of Silas, and Arthur whom he hadn't seen for many years but who was no longer alive. Where else could Finn go? Besides, Finn also thought of those mercenaries. Who exactly were they? He had to hunt them all down. Finn nodded vigorously. The usually lively and resilient boy suddenly became unusually silent. Not long after, the car pulled into a private estate, and Finn, Hudson, and Luke were politely invited inside. Soon, a butler came to serve tea and water. Meanwhile, the elderly George Easton went upstairs. This was Finn's first time in a place like this. He looked around and realized that it was really different from the Blackwood Mountain. Soon, a girl of about seventeen or eighteen years old came down from the second floor, cheerfully calling out as she walked, "Who is Finn Miller? Let me take a good look and see what kind of boyfriend the old man found for me." The girl walked over as she spoke. Finn looked at the girl, who was about his age, with great surprise. He wondered if this woman was the old man's granddaughter. She was indeed beautiful. It was the first time Finn had ever seen such a beautiful girl. His face turned red, and he lowered his head, not daring to look at her. "It's you, it's you again, it must be you! I didn't realize you were blushing, you must be shy." Lily Easton, the granddaughter of the old man George Easton, said with a loud laugh. As she spoke, she grabbed Finn's arm with her soft little hands and pulled him upstairs. Finn quickly broke free from Lily's arm and said in a trembling voice, "What are you doing? You're like a she-wolf, even more ferocious than a she-wolf." The most common creatures Finn had seen in the jungle were wolves, and the most ferocious of all wolves were she-wolves. However, after Finn went there, the most ferocious one became Finn himself. Lily was taken aback, seemingly not understanding, but she found Finn quite interesting. Lily's parents weren't around; she'd always lived with her grandfather and had few playmates. She didn't care about boyfriends or partners; as long as someone was around, that was enough. Lily was a very lively girl, and regardless of whether Finn wanted to or not, she insisted on pulling him upstairs. Just then, George Easton, who had changed his clothes, came downstairs and said very seriously, "Lily, they are guests, don't be so rude. Finn, this is my granddaughter, don't mind her. But I didn't lie to you, did I? Isn't she beautiful? I kept my promise, now it's up to you." George Easton lowered his voice and whispered in Finn's ear at the end. Finn remained silent, showing no interest in anything. He went straight to Hudson's side and said seriously, "I want to be a soldier. I want to be a soldier like you. I want to enlist now." Finn didn't want to stay here for a second longer; he felt completely out of place. Hudson stood up and patted Finn on the shoulder, knowing that George Easton was going to treat Finn to a grand feast, and he couldn't refuse. Sometimes, soldiers had to learn to be patient, and besides, the battalion commander Captain Grant had given orders, so he really couldn't leave. "Who's in such a hurry to join the army? I, Grant, approve," a serious voice said. As the voice spoke, a tall and imposing man strode in, his large eyes scanning each person's face before finally settling on Finn's. This person is Captain Grant, the commander of the Vanguard Unit of the Northwest Military Region, a colonel, and the highest commander of the Special Operations Brigade of the Northwest Military Region. Grant walked up to Finn in a few steps, looked Finn up and down carefully, and said very seriously, "Just now you were the one who was in a hurry to enlist." "Reporting, sir. His name is Finn Miller, the son of the fallen hero Arthur Miller." Hudson stood up, snapped to attention, gave a military salute, and then said very seriously. "Stand down, I didn't ask you," Grant waved his hand at Hudson and said bluntly. After speaking, his eyes were fixed on Finn. Of course, Grant knew Arthur Miller. He was the number one sniper in the entire army and the lead marksman of the Northwest Special Forces. His reputation was far-reaching. He was no ordinary person. He was the pride of the entire Northwest Military Region. Finn looked at Grant with intensity. He saw the soldier's determination and ruthlessness in Grant's eyes. Finn could tell that this man had a lot of power and also exuded a lethal aura. Finn is the wolf king of the jungle. He can blush when he is around women, but he becomes even stronger when he is around powerful men. Finn said very seriously, "That's right, I want to join the army."
