Chapter 6: The Hunter's Blade

As Finn spoke, he led the group to slowly retreat behind the big trees. On the path, they would become easy targets; only in the jungle could they launch a counterattack. "Bull" Hudson and Luke believed Finn without a doubt. Perhaps Hudson and Luke were very accurate marksmen, but the two knew that Finn was a legend in the jungle, the wolf king of the woods. No one understood the jungle better than Finn Miller. Hudson looked at Finn and said, "We'll surround them and find out their exact location. I'm entrusting Dr. Easton to you." As Hudson spoke, he looked into the depths of the jungle. He couldn't see anything; it was very quiet. But quiet often foreshadows danger. Finn looked back at Hudson and Luke, shook his head helplessly with a serious expression, pointed and said, "Five hundred yards ahead, there are footsteps, and the scent of strangers." Finn deliberately sniffed with his nose, looking just like a wolf. Hudson and Luke exchanged glances, finding Finn's reaction truly unbelievable. From such a distance, he could actually sense their potential targets. This Finn was practically Special Forces material; he might even be able to join that mysterious unit and become the nation's most powerful warrior. Hudson looked Finn up and down again. Although Finn was sixteen or seventeen, he was already grown up, tall and thin, about 5'9". Despite his thinness, Hudson knew that his slender body contained immense power. "Luke, let's flank them from that side," Hudson said confidently. He then turned to leave. As Finn watched Hudson and Luke about to leave, he couldn't help but say, "Be careful, the opponent is very strong. They can probably kill three wolves at the same time." This was the most direct information Finn gave Hudson and Luke. Both Hudson and Luke were stunned when they heard about killing three wolves at once. This was no ordinary feat. However, as Special Forces soldiers, and both young and full of vigor, Hudson turned back and smiled at Finn, saying, "It's nothing." He then turned and left, sticking out his tongue as he went. Although somewhat disbelieving, he still felt uncertain. “Young man, there’s no one here now. Tell me how you learned to lead those wolves, and I promise I won’t tell anyone. I also promise to introduce you to my granddaughter,” the mysterious old man, George Easton, persisted. Finn looked back at George Easton, feeling nothing about what George Easton had said. If he hadn't experienced what happened to his grandfather, Finn might have laughed out loud, or even joked about it and told George Easton. But now Finn couldn't laugh; he found George Easton very boring. "If you want to live and don't want to be caught, stay here obediently." Finn said coldly. After speaking, he picked up the tall George Easton, jumped onto the tree, and placed George Easton on the tree, which was more than thirty feet high. Seeing George Easton clinging tightly to the tree, Finn felt relieved and climbed down, then stealthily ran forward. Finn sensed that his opponent was extremely powerful; Hudson and Luke were no match for him. Finn decided to go and help. George Easton never expected Finn to do this. George Easton has a fear of heights. He was about to shout for Finn, but when he looked down, Finn had already disappeared. George Easton could only hold on to the tree tightly. Finn's steps were very light, even lighter than a wolf's, and he was very fast. In the blink of an eye, he had run more than two hundred yards. Finn keenly sensed a powerful opponent, slowed down, and leaped onto a big tree. He parted the leaves and saw a dark gun barrel sticking out from behind the tree more than ten yards away. The person holding the gun was wearing the same clothes as the person who killed his grandfather earlier, a jungle camouflage suit. Seeing this, Finn's anger for revenge flared up. Just then, two gunshots rang out from two different directions, but neither hit the mercenary. The mercenary quickly darted out and hid in the bushes. The jungle fell silent once again, and Finn saw all of this very clearly. Finn moved very quietly, and the mercenary didn't even notice him. But Finn noticed the mercenary, and to Finn's surprise, the mercenary, in order to avoid being sniped by Hudson and Luke, actually ran directly to the big tree where Finn was. Finn, of course, wouldn't let this opportunity slip by. From his high vantage point, he pounced down like a hungry tiger. The mercenary heard the sound and looked up to find a man descending from the sky with his hunting knife ready. The mercenary reacted quickly, raising his gun instantly. While in mid-air, Finn knew that the mercenary's marksmanship was very good, even better than Hudson and Luke. Finn suddenly had a throwing knife in his hand. With a flash of cold light, he threw the knife quickly, and it went straight for the mercenary's head. It can be said that Finn's throwing knife was steady, accurate and ruthless. The mercenary had no chance to react at all. His gun-raising posture was frozen in place. As Finn landed, he withdrew the throwing knife, and the mercenary's huge body fell to the ground with a thud. At this moment, Hudson and Luke witnessed Finn's actions and were shocked. The two of them fired their guns at the same time but failed to kill the mercenary, while Finn killed the mercenary with just a throwing knife. It was clear how high Finn's skills were. Hudson and Luke looked at each other and admitted that they were inferior to Finn. But the two of them quickly realized what was happening and said almost simultaneously, "Oh no, George Easton!" Hudson, without even having time to envy Finn, ran back as fast as he could after telling Luke. Finn looked grave, puzzled as to why there were so many mercenaries, all dressed identically. He began to examine the mercenary, picking up the sniper rifle and examining it closely. Then he kicked the mercenary and suddenly noticed a sharp knife carved into the mercenary's arm, resembling a symbol. Finn glanced at it without giving it much thought, then quickly ran back with the sniper rifle in hand. Soon Finn returned to his original spot and saw George Easton complaining about Hudson and Luke. When George Easton saw Finn, he tried to approach him, but Finn had no interest and strode forward. After marching for more than two hours, they finally emerged from the mountains and onto the main road. On the way, they encountered members of the federal agent task force who had come to meet them, along with tactical units. It was clear that these people were there to search for George Easton. These people immediately surrounded Finn, Hudson, and Luke. George Easton quickly stepped forward and said, "They saved me, especially this young man. His combat skills are amazing. I want to thank them properly." "Dr. Easton, you've been through an ordeal. Whatever you say, we'll do it. I've arranged a transport for you." A high-ranking federal officer approached George Easton, gave him a formal salute, and said loudly. "Young men, I really want to thank you all, especially you, the one who knows how to whisper to wolves," George Easton said happily, before getting into a high-end black armored limousine.
