Chapter 3: The Borderland Cartel

Finn Miller quickly stopped and hid behind a large tree, placing Bull Hudson under it. Finn's wolf-like eyes stared ahead. He sensed someone approaching and was surprised to find that Bull, like him, possessed keen intuition. Finn looked at Bull with some unease. "You are soldiers, but who are they?" Finn asked directly in a low voice. Having lived in the wilderness for many years, isolated from the outside world, he knew very little about what was happening outside. Bull knew that Finn had lost his family and was very sad. However, Bull knew that Finn's father was a national hero and a martyr, and Finn should fight like his father. Bull deliberately probed and said, "Finn, they are drug traffickers. I need your help." Finn was already somewhat wary of Bull, and upon hearing Bull's words, Finn retorted rudely, "Why? Why should I help you? My grandfather was killed the moment you arrived. Isn't that enough?" As he spoke, Finn tried to stand up. Bull grabbed Finn's hand and said sincerely, "They are cartel dealers who have poisoned thousands of people like your grandfather. If your father were alive, he would never have let these traffickers get away with it. Your father would never have let thousands of people like your grandfather suffer from drugs. I think your grandfather would not have wanted to see you like this either." Finn was stunned for a moment. He couldn't help but turn around and look at Bull. Finn thought of his grandfather and his father. He had left his father when he was very young and had even forgotten what his father looked like. Finn was taught by his grandfather from a young age to be benevolent, righteous, patriotic and law-abiding. Overwhelmed with longing for his grandfather, Finn lost control of his emotions and leaped up a tree, pounding his chest with his fists and howling like a wolf. The sound was loud and long, carrying far through the timber. Bull shook his head helplessly, knowing Finn's inner pain, but there was nothing Bull could do. His original mission was to protect Finn and his grandfather, but he was still too late. What Bull didn't expect was that he would encounter drug traffickers crossing the border. If Bull's legs were unharmed, things would be fine. For special forces soldiers, dying on the battlefield is nothing. But now that Bull is injured, he has no ability to fight back. The only hope of taking down this group of dealers is Finn. Even so, Bull took out his sniper rifle and aimed at the traffickers, partly out of fear that something might happen to Finn, and partly because he didn't want any traffickers to escape. Finn felt he should listen to Bull, so he let out a long and rapid wolf howl from the tree. Pairs of wolf eyes quickly appeared from the depths of the forest, followed by wild wolves running towards Finn. The alpha wolf stood under Finn's tree, beckoning the approaching wolves like a wolf general. The howl of wolves sent shivers down the spines of the dozen or so cartel members in the woods. These dealers were armed and ruthless. But this group of traffickers seemed different from others; among them were mysterious mercenaries. The lead mercenary, dressed in camouflage, listened intently to the sounds of the mountain after hearing the wolf howls. Without a trace of panic, he shouted, "Full speed ahead with the hostages!" Without pausing, the group rushed deeper into the forest. Finn sneered. In the wilderness, no one can escape his eyes. Finn looked at the ever-growing wolf pack, leaped, and rolled as he landed. Just then, Finn's intuition told him that there was danger. Finn rolled several times in succession, and a gunshot rang out. A deep bullet crater appeared behind Finn, and a bullet crater landed on the ground. Then another gunshot rang out, this time from Bull's position. It turned out Bull had fired. He had noticed a sniper targeting Finn and quickly opened fire. A person fell from a tree in the distance. Bull keenly sensed that these people were mercenaries and immediately shouted loudly to Finn, "Come back! They are mercenaries!" Bull sensed that things were getting complicated. Drug traffickers and mercenaries—this group was no ordinary people. Bull was afraid that something might happen to Finn, the only son of the martyr Arthur Miller, and he couldn't afford any more mishaps. Upon hearing Bull's words, Finn realized that Bull had saved his life. After rolling around on the ground a few times, Finn jumped up. He sensed that his opponent was extraordinary, but he had his own plans. This person was the same as the one he had killed earlier; they were the ones who killed his grandfather, and Finn would not let them go. Finn rushed into the trees, with the pack of wolves running quickly behind him. Finn saw the swaying branches ahead and knew it was the group of people. Finn let out a few low howls, and the alpha wolf behind him seemed to hear a command and dashed off like lightning, with the rest of the pack following closely behind. Not long after, Finn heard screams of agony. This was the result of being surrounded and attacked by a pack of wolves. Just then, gunshots rang out. Finn was shocked and ran over quickly. He saw wolves falling to the ground one after another. These wolves were like his own family members. Now they were being mercilessly slaughtered. How could Finn bear it? A group of people had already climbed up the big tree and were shooting at the wolves. Finn was furious. With a few low howls, he flipped over twice and leaped up the tree. He spotted a trafficker and, despite being several meters away, pounced on him. His huge body, like a bird of prey, pressed down on him. The dealers didn't have time to raise their guns. Startled by Finn's deep wolf howl, they dropped their weapons and were instantly devoured by the wolves. The traffickers were shocked; they never imagined a teenager could drive away a pack of wolves, and that this boy's combat skills were so formidable. In an instant, more than a dozen tongues of fire shot towards Finn from the treetops. Finn naturally dared not confront the bullets directly, so he hid behind a large tree. At this moment, a stalemate ensued. Wolves kept pouncing on the tree, but all their attempts failed. These wolves, under Finn's call, persevered. This was the spirit of the wolf: loyal and fierce. The cartel members kept shooting at the wolves, and wolves kept falling. This pained Finn, but there was nothing he could do but watch. At this moment, Finn suddenly felt a sense of powerlessness, a feeling he had never experienced before. Unconsciously, Finn longed for the submachine gun in the traffickers' hands. Just then, several gunshots rang out, and several dealers on the tree were instantly hit and fell down. Finn turned around and saw Bull and Luke, who were lying behind the tree shooting at the traffickers. Finn was amazed by Bull and Luke's marksmanship; it was simply divine. One shot, one kill. In less than ten minutes, more than a dozen traffickers had been taken down. Finn was filled with longing for such combat methods and techniques. Just then, Finn suddenly saw three people in disguise pushing a person forward more than a thousand meters away. When Finn saw these people, it was like seeing an enemy. He howled like a wolf twice, his body shot out, and he rushed out quickly.
