At this moment, Finn Miller had only one belief in his heart: to avenge his grandfather and kill these murderers. Finn didn't know who they were, but an intuition told him that they were the same group as the people who killed his grandfather. These people deserved to die, and Finn, who was a happy young man with a family and relatives, suddenly fell off a cliff.
Finn ran quickly, very fast, with a pack of wolves following behind. In a few leaps, he caught up with them. Hundreds of wolves formed a circle around the four of them, layer upon layer, showing Finn's determination.
Finn stared intently at the four people in front of him, but he found it strange that they were not a group. The three in front were probably a group, while the one in the back seemed to be their prisoner, with ropes tied around his body and a rag stuffed in his mouth.
This strange scene surprised Finn. The three people in front of him had their faces painted with colorful makeup, so he couldn't see any expression. But from their aura, he could tell that they were very fierce. They didn't seem to be afraid at all when they saw so many fierce wolves.
However, Finn didn't waste any more words. After a low howl, the wolves slowly moved towards the center, clearly indicating that Finn had launched an attack.
Just then, the leader of the three shouted, "Kid, as long as you let us go, we'll agree to any conditions!" Despite saying this, he still held a gun in one hand and pulled out several grenades in the other. Of course, this man wasn't going to commit suicide; as a mercenary, he had encountered all kinds of danger, but being surrounded by a pack of wolves like this was a first for him. However, they had a special mission and couldn't abandon it.
Finn sneered, thinking of his grandfather who had died tragically. He let out a low wolf howl, his eyes gleaming blue, looking extremely fierce, and said, word by word, "I want you dead."
Upon hearing Finn's words, the mercenary sneered and threw out a grenade. Finn was taken aback, having never seen such a thing before, and didn't know what was going on. He watched as the grenade hurtled towards him.
Just then, a tall figure leaped into the air, kicked the grenade away, and tackled Finn to the ground. Then, a huge explosion occurred, the sound of which shook the heavens and the wolves were instantly blown away.
Finn was shocked by what he saw. He hadn't expected the mercenaries to have such a thing. If he got hit by it, he would be blown to pieces. Finn turned to look at Luke, who had saved his life, and nodded gratefully. Originally, Finn was about to rush forward and kill the three men. But Luke grabbed him and held him down.
Several gunshots rang out in quick succession, and three mercenaries fell one after another, leaving only an old man bound and trembling. Soon, Bull Hudson came over with a wooden stick and looked at Finn with concern, saying, "Finn, are you alright?"
At this moment, Finn's hatred for Bull and Luke had almost disappeared, leaving only gratitude and envy. Finn used to be arrogant, but today he felt powerless. There were people more capable than him, and the two people in front of him were them. Finn nodded to Bull and said, "It's okay," and then stood up.
Just then, a figure resembling a hawk suddenly pounced down, directly attacking Bull. Bull and Luke didn't even have time to fire their guns, instead brandishing their daggers.
However, this person seemed to have anticipated this, giving Bull and Luke no chance at all. He was extremely fast, arriving in the blink of an eye. His fists struck almost simultaneously, knocking Bull and Luke to the ground. Instantly, a dagger appeared in his hand, about to fall.
Finn instinctively drew his throwing knife, let out a wolf howl, and charged forward with lightning speed. The knife flashed, leaving a trail of crimson light. The man's movements were frozen in that moment, staring at Finn in disbelief. After a brief pause, he tilted his head back and fell to the ground.
Bull and Luke witnessed Finn's skills once again. Finn was incredibly fast, his knife skills were ruthless and precise, and his abilities far surpassed those of Bull and Luke, both special forces soldiers. For a moment, Bull and Luke were stunned. They had intended to protect Finn, but instead, Finn was protecting them. This disparity left them feeling utterly helpless.
Bull and Luke stood up. Bull looked at Finn and said, "Thank you for saving us once again."
Finn looked solemn, showing no joy whatsoever, and went directly to check on his wolf pack.
Bull's eyes fell on the bound old man in the middle of the wolf pack. He was puzzled. Why would these mercenaries kidnap this old man? Did the old man have a grudge against them? Obviously not. If they did, they would have killed him on the spot, but they didn't. This meant that the old man still had value. Just then, Bull suddenly saw the wolf pack gradually approaching the old man.
Bull was taken aback and quickly said to Finn, "Quick, stop the wolf pack! This old man isn't a bad person." After saying that, Bull immediately raised his sniper rifle. At this critical moment, Bull couldn't care less about anything else. Someone valued by mercenaries must not be an ordinary person; he might even be an important figure in the country.
Finn also saw the wolf pack slowly approaching the old man. These wild wolves were not human and did not know how to distinguish right from wrong, but from Bull's words, Finn could tell that the old man was not one of these mercenaries. Finn did not have time to think, he pounded his chest with both hands, growled twice, and then pointed towards the depths of the jungle.
Upon hearing Finn's instructions, the wolves stopped and, with the alpha wolf rushing out of the pack, came to Finn. The other wolves turned around and quickly rushed into the jungle, disappearing into the woods in no time.
Finn's extraordinary abilities once again astonished Bull and Luke. It was practically a myth, a myth related to wolves—no one would believe it if you told it to them, but it was the truth. Bull made a plan in his mind. Finn had such skills, able to control a wolf pack, and that wasn't all; he also had a throwing knife technique. He was simply perfect material for a special forces soldier.
But now we must go and see the old man first. Bull winked at Luke, who strode over, quickly untied the old man's ropes, and removed the rag from his mouth.
The old man approached Finn, Bull, and Luke. He looked Finn up and down, clearly very interested in him. The old man said gratefully to Finn, "Young brother, thank you. You saved me, and I must repay you."
Finn wasn't interested in the old man's offer of gratitude. He glanced at the old man, then turned and walked towards his home halfway up the mountain, followed by a large wolf. His grandfather was still lying at home. Thinking of his grandfather, Finn couldn't stop the tears from flowing. After all, he was only sixteen or seventeen years old; he had never suffered such a blow before.
Back home, Finn lay on his grandfather's body, weeping silently. His once warm hands were now cold. Thinking of the happy days he had spent with his grandfather, Finn felt waves of heartache that made him feel like he was dying.
"Don't cry, child. Let the old man rest in peace." Bull said with concern, placing his large hand on Finn's shoulder as he helped Finn up.
In just over an hour, a grave appeared halfway up the mountain, with a wooden tombstone erected there. Finn wept silently before the tombstone.
“Child, Grandpa is gone. What are you going to do? But there are some things I need to tell you.” Bull said to Finn. Bull now regarded Finn as his own child. This was the son of his comrade-in-arms, which was also his own son.
Finn wiped away his tears and looked at Bull. Finn didn't know what to do, but he noticed the sniper rifle on Bull's back. Finn was very interested, but he didn't say anything, knowing that Bull had something else to say.
Bull looked at Finn and noticed that Finn's eyes were fixed on the sniper rifle on his body. This was a good thing, and it was also Bull's wish. Bull patted Finn on the shoulder, intending to say something.
However, when Bull saw the mysterious old man standing behind him, he hesitated. Although it wasn't anything mysterious, the fewer people who knew about it, the better. What exactly was this old man doing? Bull couldn't help but look at the old man and ask, "Sir, why were you captured by mercenaries? What are you doing?"
