We didn’t stay in the darkness very long. Perhaps a minute later, we emerged from the shadows into the light. We landed feet first, the impact of the landing causing me to nearly stumble. Jake and Theo managed to hold Professor Hernandez between them, while Sea Sister clutched her head like she was experiencing a bad headache. Only Shade seemed unaffected, a smile on her face as she looked around at all of us. “Well, that was fun.
