Professor Hernandez’s cart zipped through the empty streets of the Underground Academy, its motor purring like a kitten all the while. Behind us, the sounds of battle between the Guardians, the teachers, and the students were growing fainter and fainter the further we went, although I could still hear the occasional explosion that rocked the air or gunfire somewhere in the distance. I had to admit I felt really bad about leaving everyone behind. But I reminded myself that this was for the greater good. Stopping Overkill was more important than anything else.
