Chapter 24 - Nice to meet you
***Blair’s POV***
I’m not sure how long I’ve been sobbing. This baby was supposed to be my ticket to becoming luna or at least his concubine. I’m supposed to be a luna! The moon goddess had mated me to an alpha. That’s proof that I should be someone’s luna!
“Wow, seriously, Blair? You would degrade yourself to the point of being someone’s concubine? Being his concubine is the same as being his mistress. You’re willing to be his side chick? You’re that desperate proves your baby is better off dead than to be alive and have you as its mother.” My wolf’s voice had a thick layer of pure disgust. I wanted to be angry, but I knew what she said was right. I’ve spent so much time finding ways to become someone’s luna instead of focusing on my self-worth. Before I could say anything, my wolf blocked me out. It wasn’t until now that I realized how lonely I felt without my wolf speaking to me. Suddenly it dawned on me that Charles would kill me if he found out I had lost the baby. Sh*t, I can’t go to the pack doctor and run the chance of spoiling the plan. My only option is to get in contact with a witch doctor.
***Amber’s POV***
I wasn’t awake, but I wasn’t dreaming. It was like I was in some sort of limbo. Everything around me was dark. It was like I was standing in a room with the lights off.
“Hello Amber, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Alex.” Suddenly everything changes, and I’m standing in the woods. There’s a dark figure standing on the tree line. I see my wolf walking toward me, but that dark figure is still there. I’m briefly distracted when my wolf nudges me with her snout.
“I’m sorry. My intentions were never to block you out. I had to get acquainted with Alex.” It was strange to see my wolf but hear her in my head.
“What are you talking about? Who’s Alex?” At this point, my wolf was making no sense. “Who’s Alex? I’ve heard someone or something introduce themselves as Alex, but I haven’t seen them.”
“It’s such a shame that you don’t recognize me by now. Tsk tsk” I looked down, and my wolf wasn’t there anymore. She was standing next to the shadow figure. It stepped out, and I couldn’t stop my eyes from practically bulging out of my head. The figure in front of me looked like me but had white fur, pointed ears, and a snout. I was utterly mesmerized by it.
“Wh-who i..is this?” Good grief, can I not stutter at the moment like this?
“Wow, Jade, you were right. She would be shocked by me.” I heard my wolf laughing at me. Turning around, I glared at her.
“Hey! Whose side are you on?” I tried to hold my glare but failed miserably, especially when I started laughing.
“In my defense, you were staring at your paws for quite some time.” Our banter was quickly ended by a loud howl.
“Perfect! Now that I have your attention, My name is Alex, and I’m your lycan.” That’s when everything started to make sense to me. I swear sometimes I can be so dense. “Anyway, like I was saying, I wanted to have a big dramatic entrance, but Ms. Thang over here kept fighting with me.” My wolf huffed and walked away.
“When will I be able to shift?” Since I was alone with my lycan, I figured I should learn as much as possible.
“Oh, no, little one. The moon Goddess made me promise not to tell you that. Just know when the time is right, it’ll happen. Goodbye for now; I need my beauty rest.” Alex just walked away. So both of my beasts are dramatic? I guess this is going to be fun. Suddenly, I wake up in my bed with a worried Ryder looking at me.
“Babe, what’s wrong? You look worried.” I raised my hand and gently caressed his face while enjoying the pleasurable tingling sensation.
“Amber, how do you feel, and what do you remember?” His voice was saturated with worry and concern.
“Honestly? Not much except for you wearing me the f*ck ou….” I didn’t finish the sentence as I followed his gaze to see Dr. Miller blushing profusely, Luna Marie with a pleasant smile, and Alpha Blake with an unreadable expression. The amount of heat that rushed to my face was insane. Can the ground please swallow me up? If I were to say that I’m embarrassed, that’d be an understatement. Alpha Blake stepped forward while clearing his throat.
“Amber, what do you remember happening before? Did you feel anything out of the ordinary while you were sleeping?” I was at a loss for words, so I nodded in response.
“What happened? What aren’t you guys telling me?” Waves of anxiety started flooding me to the point I was on the verge of hyperventilating. Gently placing my chin between his thumb and forefinger, Ryder turned my face towards him.
“While we were, umm….” His face turned red as a tomato as he mentioned us having s3x. It took all of my self-control not to burst out laughing. I knew if I opened my mouth, the only thing that would come out would be laughter, so I nodded in response.
“Well, halfway through, one of your eyes turned red. I dismissed it, but Jake was skeptical. He didn’t explain why but he retreated to the back of my mind and hasn’t said anything since. When I woke up to use the bathroom, you were fine. But when I got back, both your eyes were open, but they were red, and you were unresponsive. As soon as I saw that Jake started going crazy, he was saying something to someone, but for some reason, I couldn’t hear it. I’ve never had to fight him so hard to keep control.” It took me a minute to process everything he told me. Is that what was going on when I was in that dream-like state? The room fell into a heavy silence.
“Umm, I have felt somewhat different, especially these past few days. I hadn’t been able to communicate with my wolf until last night. I… I…I met my Lycan last night or early this morning.” I left out the part about my lycan saying she’s royalty. But that has me wondering, what’s the truth about my mother’s bloodline? I mind-linked Ryder.
“Do you know anything about Lycan royals?” His eyes widened before they glazed over. I half expected him to reply to me but instead, Alpha Ryder, Dr. Miller, and Luna Marie nodded their heads and left the room.
“Ryder, what aren’t you telling me?” I felt myself panicking about what? I don’t know. He released a deep sigh before looking at me.
“There’s something you need to know, but please don’t get upset over it.” My heart dropped to my a*s. I had a feeling I wasn’t going to like whatever he was going to say.
