The town of Xianyang which was situated between two large mountains started to have a downpour of rain, and dark clouds covered the tall mountains with bright flashes of lightning, which occasionally split the clouds into two. The town rested in a valley with a calm river-splitting it into two halves and acting as a water source and natural land barrier.
But due to the heavy downpour, the calm and collected river was becoming rough and turbulent. Splashing high waves on the two sides of the river banks and spreading to the streets of the town.
"What is happening now?"
"Isn't this thunderstorm a little too sudden"
"This is strange"
Xianyang wasn't a large town and most of its people had only reached the later stages of the Foundation Stage and knew nothing about the later phases of cultivation due to their location and limited resources. Thus seeing this phenomenon they could only associate it with a naturally formed thunderstorm. And though most could sense the changes in the spiritual energy in the atmosphere, thunderstorms generally do the same thing.
"Let's go inside"
"Honey, let's close up for today"
The townspeople instantly began to clear the streets, closing the doors to their shops, and packing up their stalls due to the high winds that began to pick up, blowing dust and sand all over. The tall valley trees that lit the street corners began to sway from side to side as if they would break at any moment.
Master Jiang frowned after sensing the commotion outside the cultivation room, it was unexpected that such a strong reaction would occur with just the opening of a meridian channel. But with the appearance of the Eternal Flame Codex, it's unknown what the outcome would be. Not to mention that the Eternal Flame Codex was not something of this world and would be strongly opposed by the heavenly Daos of the lower realm.
"Let's leave this area first."
Master Jiang placed his hands together, and his aura instantly spiked with his long hair rising. Spiritual energy surged as he opened his hands with blazing spiritual Qi shuttling to and from his palm, his cultivation base began to rotate filling his body with power. He then placed his hands on the floor, sending all of his energy into the walls of the building.
The cultivation room then suddenly began to shake and before long, it flew to the skies, turning into a dot on the horizon. It moved so fast that mortals wouldn't be able to even see its shadow. With the disappearance of the cultivation room, the dark clouds covering the town began to clear up, and the downpours of rain eased.
"Ahhh"
Jiang Feng screamed as his body tore and repaired itself, large quantities of spiritual energy poured into his body from the pond of spiritual Qi. His body surged and roared like a wild beast as Feng began to cough up blood and bits and pieces of internal organs.
"Hang in there son". Master Jiang's worried voice sounded.
He knew that reverse cultivation went against the natural order and that there would be consequences for his son's actions. The cultivation room flew through the skies and floated among the clouds of raging winds and lightning. Roaring sounds echoed as thunder boomed overhead, gathering above the cultivation room in the form of a long spear.
Master Jiang brought the cultivation room flying away to ensure that the land wasn't destroyed by the tribulation lightning and to prevent the lives of the towns people from being harmed. Yes, the thunderstorm was tribulation lightning triggered by the heavenly Daos due to breaking heavens natural law.
"The ancestors were able to create weapons of mass destruction, cultivated warriors of the finest bloodlines, and had connections throughout the 9 heavens, they ruled a corner of this universe"
A deep voice echo at this moment as a massive gold book shined like the sun, its rays sharp and its aura ancient in all its glory. This made both Jiang Long and Jiang Feng's minds go blank for a moment. As if hearing this voice was the blessing of a life time. Master Jiang took a deep breath to calm himself down as he knew that a baptism was about to take place and that he could also benefit from it.
"In the realm of cultivation, the concept of reverse cultivation is often viewed with skepticism and caution due to its perceived defiance of the natural order or "heaven's law. Reverse cultivation disrupts this orderly process by attempting to reverse or shortcut this progression. This disruption is seen as problematic because it can lead to imbalance within the cultivator's spiritual and physical being."
The voice of the codex sounded out for both to hear, and though master Jiang knew most of this knowledge already, he knew that this lecture wasn't for him but for his son Feng. The Eternal Flame Codex wanted to let him understand the path he was about to embark upon and that there was no turning back.
"The techniques involved in reverse cultivation are often experimental and risky, carrying a high potential for backlash. This backlash may manifest as spiritual corruption, physical deformities, or loss of control over one's Qi, posing significant dangers to the cultivator's well-being.
Moreover, reverse cultivation raises ethical concerns within the cultivation community and is only accepted by the demonic path. Cultivation practices are deeply rooted in principles of harmony with natural laws and spiritual balance. Reverse cultivation, by its nature, goes against these principles, potentially causing harm not only to the cultivator but also to others or the environment. It is viewed as a deviation from the accepted norms and teachings that guide cultivators towards enlightenment and mastery over Qi/spiritual energy."
"However, despite these inherent risks, if one were to successfully practice reverse cultivation, it could offer significant benefits. If one were able to successfully harness reverse cultivation, it could potentially unlock dormant potential within the cultivator. This might lead to unprecedented levels of power, insight into the mysteries of the universe, or even new methods of harnessing Qi"
