Chapter 43: Seal the deal.

1997 Words

Talia was frozen, had she heard him say what she thought he said, she couldn’t move.  She was afraid that if she moved to look at him the spell would break and she would find herself waking up and realizing this had all been a dream.  So she sat still, unmoving, listening to her heart beat.  You could drop a pin in this room and hear it down the hall she thought to herself.                 She had been so afraid that he wasn’t going to survive and then he had woken up.  The darn fool had tried to get out of bed and she had threatened to sit on him to keep him there when he had pulled her into his lap.  They had agreed, basically, on him being in a sitting position because the damn man couldn’t listen to orders and lay down to save his own life. Literally!
