***Jane*** I woke to the sound of birds chirping, the warmth of the morning sun beginning to overheat me while I laid under the covers. I threw the blankets off me and dangled one foot off the bed, my eyes still closed, not quite ready to receive the day. I blindly reached out for my phone to check the time, my hand literally patting the bed down everywhere until I remembered it was probably still sitting in my bag. I begrudgingly opened my eyes, and looked around my room. The morning light had a beautiful effect on the high beams that graced the roof of the ceiling, bringing out all the warm hues that were hidden in the darkness of the night.
